04: New Balance 2002R (GORE-TEX)
It looks ordinary, but it's actually made of Gore-Tex.
Fuinam: The fourth pair is the New Balance “2002R.” You wouldn’t even know these were made with Gore-Tex unless someone told you.
Kojima: That's true. Of the five pairs we're looking at this time, this one might be the one where the Gore-Tex feature is the least prominent.
New Balance: Left “U200227R,” Right “U20023MB”; 1 pair each, TP9T27,200
Fuinam: It looks ordinary, but it’s actually made of Gore-Tex. That’s pretty cool, isn’t it?
Kojima: Exactly. The “2002R” itself has become a staple, and adding Gore-Tex to it makes it even more versatile.
Fuinam: What about the colors? Which one do you prefer, Kojima-san?
Kojima: Personally, I’m all for the gray. It’s a tonal shade, but the gradient gives it depth. That said, I can’t bring myself to pass up the black either. Bottom line: maybe buying both colors is the way to go (laughs).
