Collaborations with prestigious brands are also available!
The first store in Japan to carry the “Daiwa 247 Series” has opened on the 8th floor of the Hankyu Umeda Main Store. This floor is named "GREEN AGE" and is based on the concept of "harmony between people and nature." Brands ranging from outdoor to luxury coexist in this space, which proposes ways of engaging with nature and lifestyles that encompass not only fashion but also food, home goods, and cosmetics. With brands that prioritize environmentally conscious manufacturing represented here, the space aligns perfectly with the identity of , a fishing brand that has long faced various environmental challenges.
I decided to check out the items right away. The collection features a wide range of functional pieces, from clothing that carries on the legacy of fishing wear—with features like waterproofing, water repellency, and wind resistance—to garments made with fabrics that offer moisture-wicking, quick-drying, stretch, and UV protection, making them ideal for outdoor activities. Even in today’s urban life, where climate change is becoming increasingly severe, this lineup is by no means over-engineered—it works perfectly well as fashion, too.
From top to bottom: Daiwa × POTR Shoulder Bag ¥42,900, Daypack ¥57,200, Tote Bag ¥53,900
First, we’d like to highlight two collaborations created to commemorate the launch of the collection and the grand opening of the new store. The first is a series of bags created in collaboration with POTR, a brand by Yoshida Kaban. The collection features three styles: a daypack, a shoulder bag, and a tote bag.
The material is a cotton-like nylon canvas fabric. It features a water-repellent finish and incorporates fishing-inspired details such as mesh pockets and daisy chains, making it ideal for both fishing and everyday use. The pockets are sized to accommodate a standard Daiwa lure case.
Ishii: This collaboration between two of Japan’s leading companies—one in fishing and the other in bags—is truly exciting. The size is just right—not too big and not too small. I love designs packed with pockets and details, so this bag fits perfectly with my personal style.
Daiwa × Danner River Walker Low ¥54,450
Another collaboration partner is the shoe brand Danner, founded in 1932. This is a pair of shoes that reissues the “RIVER WALKER” model—which has its roots in wading boots—exclusively for Daiwa.
The sleek, all-black design makes them easy to wear, with the logo embossed on the right heel and the logo on the left heel. They feature a waterproof lining and a sole equipped with the "VIBRAM #1276," making this a truly authentic design.
Komatsu: I really liked the fact that this model is based on wading shoes. The sole is sturdy, so the grip is excellent. It has a solid, robust shape, but since it’s black, I think it’ll be easy to pair with other items.
