Enjoying a bit of fishing while traveling.
From the new Daiwa store at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store all the way to the heart of Osaka Bay—a winter getaway that spanned both the city and the great outdoors. Though brief, it was a trip where I was able to fully enjoy Osaka with fishing as the centerpiece.
Ishii: This time, I went fishing while I was at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store to check out the "Daiwa 247 Series," and I have to say, that approach is pretty nice. While it’s great to travel to different places with fishing as the main purpose, I think it’s also perfectly fine to treat fishing as a side activity during a trip. It really made me realize once again that fishing is so accessible—even in a big city like Osaka, you can still go fishing.
Saikawa: Since last year, I’ve been hooked on fishing trips that combine fishing with other activities. Since it was my first time fishing in Osaka Bay, it gave me a chance to learn about the area’s geography and topography. Although I didn’t catch much, it was fun to experience the novelty of fishing in a different location.
Mi-hime: Until now, I used to travel to rural areas just to go fishing, but I’ve come to think it’s nice to do some fishing while I’m on vacation. Even without taking a boat like I did this time, I’d like to fish from a breakwater or something with the mindset that “it’s a bonus if I catch anything.” I’d like to visit Kyushu with that kind of attitude.
Ikemoto: Fishing outside the Kanto region is a nice change of pace and a lot of fun. I highly recommend combining fishing with sampling local specialties and sightseeing—it’s a great way to experience both the city and nature.
Komatsu: We were able to enjoy both the streets of Umeda and the ocean. If you’re going on a trip, I think spending even just half a day experiencing the local nature is a great way to refresh yourself.
