And no wonder: of the approximately 39,000 runners in the 2026 Tokyo Marathon, about 17,000 were residents of other countries, accounting for more than 40 percent of the field.

The next “Tokyo Marathon 2027” is scheduled to take place on March 7, 2027. It will mark the milestone 20th edition of the event. Entry details are scheduled to be announced around late June 2026.
