After a roughly two-hour ride on the Shinkansen, we arrived safely at Kyoto Station. As they walked through the station, their backs clearly showed that they were passionate about fashion.
I’m sure quite a few people were captivated by the outfits worn in the M-1 Grand Final. Yamaguchi wore a suit from *Engineered Garments*, while Reiji wore a custom-made orange jacket with a perfectly calculated hemline.
The person whom these two fashion enthusiasts look up to as their mentor is Mr. Yagisawa of the now-defunct legendary store "Harajuku Cassidy."
Zero:They're totally ripping it off, seriously.
Yamaguchi:This was over 10 years ago, but back when we were at Yoshimoto, a writer told us, “You guys look like slobs.” Back then, we were both wearing vintage clothes as our stage costumes. And they were expensive vintage clothes, too.
Zero:So, while I was looking through a magazine to see what to do, I realized that all the outfits I thought looked cool were from "Harajuku Cassidy."
Yamaguchi:Of course.
Zero:I thought, "Let's just go check it out," and when I did, there was this super-tough old guy there (lol)
Yamaguchi:And just like that, we got swept right up in it, too.
Zero:When Ms. Yagisawa says something, I really feel like I can trust her. I was having trouble deciding on a piece of clothing I wanted, but she’ll just say something like, “You probably shouldn’t buy that if the size is off,” without hesitation.
Yamaguchi:Make sure to pick the best one, okay?
Zero:"Harajuku Cassidy" closed down this past January, so I haven't been able to buy anything at all lately. I think I'll probably be making more money from now on. But I'm at a loss. I can't buy anything. I just don't know what to do.
Yamaguchi:We have no choice but to decide together.
Zero:Whenever I ask Yamaguchi, "What do you think of this?", all he ever says is, "That's awesome!" He always gives me a compliment.
Yamaguchi:That's right.
