Kagami Font danced at a special Outdoor Products booth.
It was a Saturday in April, a pleasant day in the spring sunshine. At the "Huinamu no Haruichi - New Life and New Things" held on the 10th floor of Shibuya PARCO, a variety of items to enrich your new life were on display.
Among the flea market, sporting goods, fragrance products, pet supplies, and other booths, the Outdoor Products booth drew a large crowd. While the sales floor was simple, with racks of standard backpacks and Boston bags, there was a man sitting on a stool next to him, holding a marker. He is Ken Kagami, a contemporary artist.
Here's how it works this time. Bag buyers talk with Kagami-san and tell him what they like, what motifs they want, and what text they would like to see on the bag. From there, Kagami-san will come up with his own ideas. Kagami then draws an illustration or words to be given to the purchaser on the bag.
Kagami-san, who draws lines that make you smile with just a few questions and answers, is still the best. A bag is a personal possession, but when it becomes like this, it is a work of art. It is your own art!
To begin with, "Outdoor Products'" canvas bags have always been as simple as ever. That was just right to catch Kagami's line.
Other than that, the booth was lined with "Outdoor Products" archives, and it was also interesting to see how the brand has evolved since its birth in the U.S. in 1973. In addition to a fleece bag with the old logo and a bag made in collaboration with Snoopy, there was also an official bag for the NFL team "San Francisco 49ers" made by "Outdoor Products" and a backpack made by "Herve Chapelier. It is clear that the company has long been trusted for its quality.
