Even if we’ve never met before, a nice shot brings us closer.

As we were playing a casual game of tennis, I made eye contact with some women playing on the court next to us. Before I knew it, we’d agreed to play doubles together.

Even when playing with someone for the first time, the distance between you naturally shrinks as you play together. One of the great things about tennis is that, regardless of gender or age, you can stand on the same court and chase the same ball. You cheer each other on for good shots and laugh together when you make a mistake. More than winning or losing, it’s the shared experience that makes it fun.

Dressed in authentic tennis wear, I head from the city to the court. A stop at the Wilson store makes tennis feel a little more accessible—and a little more sophisticated. Why not head out to the tennis court with Wilson on your next day off?
