THE NORTH FACE & BEAMS PRESENTS

Play in the Outdoors! Presented by THE NORTH FACE & BEAMS

The North Face and BEAMS. It is still fresh in our minds that these two companies, which are in different positions as a select store and an outdoor manufacturer, have collaborated with each other. The key to this collaboration was the creation of products that functioned at the so-called performance level. The editorial department of Huinum joined the two men in a field meeting where they experienced the appeal of the outdoors by using actual products in the mountains and experiencing their functionality. We experienced the direction they are aiming for through their manufacturing.

The meeting place is the Mizugaki Mountain Nature Park in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. The park's parking lot, which commands a view of the autumn leaves of Mt.

After changing into the collaboration items given to us on site, we first moved to a bouldering spot not far from the park. We had a bouldering experience with an instructor from The North Face.

After completing the preparatory exercises, we gradually moved up to the beginner and intermediate levels. As we gradually became accustomed to the route, a route appeared faintly on a plain rock wall. The climbers use their large muscles to climb, shifting their weight from left foot here to right hand here.

This is surprisingly interesting! You realize that bouldering is not just a sport where you have to rely on your arm strength to climb a rocky mountain, but it is a sport where you have to draw your own routes by fully utilizing your mental and physical strength, which is more creative than you can imagine.

Then, the second day. On this day, we climbed a mountain to the summit of Mt. Incidentally, the previous day we stayed at Zuigaisanso, located at the foot of Mt. Zuigaki. With the trailhead right in front of us, it was the perfect location for us to enjoy the evening party while preparing for the climb.

The Day. A fine day for climbing! We gathered at the trailhead at 7:00 a.m., and under the guidance of our mountain guide, we set out for the summit of Mt. Starting from the forest path, we traveled around the ridge, crossed a river, passed through chain-link sections, and overcame rocky terrain, but the white rock peak of Mt.

But still, one step after another brought us steadily closer to the summit. Gradually, the rocky terrain increases, ladders are climbed, chains are clung to, and finally, the summit is reached! The summit offers a 360-degree view of the huge rock formations, and everywhere you look, the view is spectacular.

Lunch with a view of this spectacular scenery is an exquisite meal in itself. We will fully enjoy the luxury of time that we cannot experience in the city. Afterwards, we returned to the same path and descended the mountain, finishing with a final stretch. With this, the field meeting came to an end.

What I felt during these two fulfilling days was that the mountain is a "playground. Of course, there are risks involved. That is why performance is so important to prevent such dangers in advance.

However, we must admit that we are not comfortable with the idea of putting on stiff performance wear. That's where this collaborative collection comes in. The stretchy pants are perfect for bouldering, and the middle layer allows for smooth temperature regulation.

This is the ideal form of field wear that we are looking for: an authentic design that looks good in town, but also works well in mountain activities. How will this matching develop after this meeting? As Mr. Nakata, Director of Men's Casual at BEAMS says, "We planned this project in the hope that our products would help people understand the appeal of the outdoors and encourage as many young people as possible to venture out into the field. By viewing the outdoors as a part of culture, like fashion and music, we believe that the scope of the outdoors will expand even further. We will keep our eyes on the two brands in the future.
