Mr. Motomiya, who is involved in various apparel brands as a freelancer and operates his own vintage clothing e-commerce store, said, "It's not just that it's made in the U.S., but the materials and sewing have a unique taste. Clothes made in an era when people genuinely tried to make good things with good materials before thinking about efficiency or budget will never get old," he said, explaining the appeal of American vintage.
Jack Daniel's, which is produced using a unique charcoal mellowing process and is made from water, barrels, and charcoal, also values tradition over efficiency in order to produce a genuinely good whiskey.
The original whiskey, produced from the spring water of Cave Spring in Lynchburg, is refined into a mellow and unique flavor by passing through 10 feet of charcoal over the course of a week. The charcoal used in this production process, called the "charcoal mellowing process," and the new white oak barrels in which the whiskey is laid down are all made in-house.
