Jack Daniel's and vintage clothing have a surprising amount in common.

Vintage Clothes & Jack Daniel's

Jack Daniel's and vintage clothing have an unexpected common denominator.

Jack Daniel's, a Tennessee whiskey loved by many musicians, especially rock stars, was created by Jasper Newton Daniel (Jack Daniel), the founder of Jack Daniel's, who opened his distillery at the age of 16. The whiskey created by the founder, Jasper Newton Daniel (Jack Daniel's), who started the distillery at the age of 16, is filled with the same "dedication to craftsmanship" as that of made-in-USA vintage clothing. In order to discover its appeal once again, we visited "JACK DANIEL'S EXPERIENCE 2018 Japan," an event to introduce the brand's world view, together with Mr. Chikara Motomiya, who operates an e-commerce store for used clothing.

The commitment to being made in the U.S.A. .

Many people who love vintage have an extraordinary obsession with "Made in the USA". This is because the country of production itself is an important element of the product.

Actually, the same can be said for whiskey. Jack Daniel's is not a bourbon, but rather a "Tennessee whiskey," an even more limited designation.

Made in the USA" whiskey is produced using only the original whiskey distilled and casked at the Jack Daniel's distillery, the oldest registered distillery in the U.S., and using the same production methods that are still used today. All Jack Daniel's sold around the world is made in Lynchburg, Tennessee, where the distillery was founded.

Mr. Motomiya, who is involved in various apparel brands as a freelancer and operates his own vintage clothing e-commerce store, said, "It's not just that it's made in the U.S., but the materials and sewing have a unique taste. Clothes made in an era when people genuinely tried to make good things with good materials before thinking about efficiency or budget will never get old," he said, explaining the appeal of American vintage.

Jack Daniel's, which is produced using a unique charcoal mellowing process and is made from water, barrels, and charcoal, also values tradition over efficiency in order to produce a genuinely good whiskey.

The original whiskey, produced from the spring water of Cave Spring in Lynchburg, is refined into a mellow and unique flavor by passing through 10 feet of charcoal over the course of a week. The charcoal used in this production process, called the "charcoal mellowing process," and the new white oak barrels in which the whiskey is laid down are all made in-house. The barrels, which are rare in the world and produced in-house, are carefully roasted inside and then charred over a flame. This attention to detail is essential to the unique flavor of the whiskey.

After maturation, the distillers, called master distillers, and specially trained tasters taste each barrel, and when Jack Daniel's has reached its peak of maturity, it is bottled and shipped around the world.

Just as vintage items have the pleasure of unraveling their history through their stitching and design, whiskey has the pleasure of sensing the degree of maturity through the climate of Tennessee, with its extreme temperature differences, and the ingredients in the barrels.

A man who left his family at a young age, learned whiskey making from a minister, and devoted his life to whiskey. Why not taste the whiskey with the history of Jack Daniel, who created a drink loved by rock stars and passed away leaving behind many legends?
