We asked Tomoyuki Sasaki, an outdoorsy stylist who loves camping and mountain climbing, about his thoughts on wristwatches, how he chooses them, and his impressions of the new "Fieldmaster" color from Seiko Prospex, which was produced by LOWERCASE. . First of all, could you tell us about your "view of wristwatches"?

SasakiFor me, a wristwatch is more like "gear" than a "fashion item. Of course, looks are important, but function is more important. The most important function is toughness. I often go outdoors for both work and private use, and I am attracted to items that are tough enough to withstand rough treatment.

After studying under Katsuyuki Honjo , he became independent. . He currently works mainly for men's fashion magazines such as "GO OUT" magazine. In addition to fashion, he is also known for his deep knowledge of outdoor activities such as camping and mountain climbing.

What kind of watches do you usually wear?

Sasaki. Mostly outdoor and military style. The colors are mostly chic, such as black or silver. Rather than choosing a piece of jewelry according to fashion, I try to wear what I want to wear at the time.

SasakiIt has a good volume, but it's not too assertive, and it also has an urban feel, doesn't it? The digital display is also very easy to read. . The black one is chic and stylish. The white scale on the bezel gives a cool impression. I think it can be matched with a wide range of styling from suit style to casual style. The white one, on the other hand, is a bit more unique, and I personally prefer it. White field watches are rare, so it gives a fresh impression.

How is it comfortable to wear?

SasakiI was surprised that it was lighter than I had imagined. This lightness will be useful in the outdoor field. Although the overall design is voluminous, when you actually put it on your hand, it fits easily in your hand. Also, the silicon band is smooth and comfortable to the touch.
