ENALLOID MEETS HIP CREATOR

Licaxxx talks about himself "now".

The eyewear brand "ENALLOID" combines the three elements of design, comfort, and high quality. The overwhelming ease of use of the brand's eyewear has gained the support of many people. Licaxxx, who is active as a DJ, wears items from this brand. We interviewed him about his own sense of fashion, starting with the way he interacts with eyewear. She says, "I can express myself in my own way. What does she feel "now" as a creator of the spotlight?

Licaxxx / DJ

Born in 1991, he is a multi-artist who performs at parties in Japan and abroad as a DJ, as well as a radio personality and writer. He is also the editor-in-chief of the web media "Sigma Phat," which he established in 2016. He is a regular performer as a music receiver.

I like the balanced design.

What do you consider important in expressing fashion in your daily life?

LicaxxxThe basic idea is to choose what fits you best. I choose eyewear and clothes that suit my face and body shape. I also try not to be overly flashy. I don't want to stand out.

They wear oversized clothes and have an image of boyish fashion.

LicaxxxMaybe so. I also wear men's brands, and these days there is a lot of unisex clothing. Even in men's wear, wearing clothes with a lot of fabric and movement makes me look more feminine. I am conscious of that.

Did you know about Eneroid?

LicaxxxOf course. I once wore it on a photo shoot for a store. I remember thinking how lightweight it was.

Do you usually wear eyewear?

LicaxxxI often wear glasses at home. I also wear them when I walk around the neighborhood.

Do you also wear sunglasses?

LicaxxxI play it in the summer. I also wear it at festivals and other situations where everyone else does. I don't usually wear them on the street. On the contrary, I feel like I stand out. But I like them and have a few.

What kind of design items do you like?

LicaxxxI like the larger sizes. I have a clear face, so if I wear black-rimmed glasses with thick frames, I tend to make too strong an assertion. So, if I do wear black-rimmed glasses, I try to balance it out by using metal temples or other materials and colors.

The item you selected today from "Enaroid" is also a combination of celluloid and metal, isn't it?

LicaxxxThat's right. What I feel comfortable with is usually a well-balanced design like this.

Please let me know what you think when you put it on.

LicaxxxI don't feel any discomfort or stress when I wear them. This is true in terms of the feeling of wearing them, and also in terms of the design. I just had a look at the other items, and I think the overall shape of the frames is one that is easy for Japanese people to get used to. Rather than being eccentric, I feel that the frames are designed with an emphasis on basicness, making them easy to fit in with everyday life.

In a past interview, you mentioned that you "feel more familiar with a brand that has music in the background. Is that still the case today?

LicaxxxThat's right. Of course, there are times when I like a design just by looking at it, but if I like the brand or designer and dig deeper, I can find commonalities with music. I like designs by people with whom I share common interests. Nowadays, fashion brands sometimes host music events, and I think it's great when they support very core artists.

Nowadays, I think more and more people choose clothes that include the culture behind the brand.

LicaxxxWhen I was around 21 or 22 years old, I had the impression that fashion and culture were divided. People who liked fashion would focus on it, while people who liked music would devote themselves to it. Nowadays, I feel that all the children of my generation around me choose their clothes with a policy. In a good sense, there is a balance between fashion and culture. I think there are more and more people who can clearly say, "I like this kind of music, so I want this kind of clothes.

I will do what only I can do. This awareness became clear.

In addition to DJing, you are currently the editor-in-chief of your own web media. You incorporate social themes into the visuals of your fashion pages.

LicaxxxI am not a pure fashion person, and that is why I think it is necessary to approach it from a different angle. For example, when I ask stylists to create visuals, I don't just use fashion terms like "conservative" or "street style," but I decide on a social theme and discuss it with all the staff members while finalizing the content of the shoot. In that sense, it may be similar to creative work.

What have you gained through such work? What have you gained through such work?

LicaxxxI think everyone has their own criteria for what they think is good and what they don't like so much, but I now have a stronger sense of this. Music and clothes have their own fads, but we are no longer concerned about them.

Is it the same with regard to your own daily life?

LicaxxxThat's right. I no longer say, "I shouldn't wear this too much. Fashion has become more free. In my case, music came first. Now I feel that it is okay to have many different styles.

Jaima, you are able to express yourself in a more personal way in music, fashion, and editing.

LicaxxxYes, I do. There is a sense of being able to do what I want to do without worrying about others.

Finally, what are your goals for the future?

LicaxxxI would like to be more conscious of overseas activities. I am sure that what we do will not change, but I would like to do it from a more global perspective. I would like to DJ overseas, invite artists to Japan, and make my media more accessible to people overseas. I would like to expand the scale of my activities by involving various people, not just myself.
