Ships" is one of the pioneers of select stores that have long introduced American casual to Japan. Haynes" is an inseparable part of their history of introducing American brands to Japan. Meguro, who has been working as a press representative for SHIPS for one year, says that he realized the appeal of the "Haines" brand through his time as a sales representative at the store before he was transferred to the press position.
There are so many T-shirt brands out there. Among them, "Haynes" is the most well-known and trusted brand by our customers. I was reminded that this is a brand that everyone has worn before. I was also allowed to sell a lot of the products myself (laughs).
Mr. Meguro first became interested in fashion when he was in junior high school, when he became interested in the West Coast American-style domestic brands that were popular at the time, which led him to trace and explore the roots of American casual fashion style.
I thought it was an interesting selection because SHIPS handles American items as well as young Japanese brands, and I thought it was an interesting balance. For today's coordinate, I paired a pants brand called "Pats Pants" run by a New York skater named Pat with a jacket from "Southwick," which SHIPS has carried for a long time, so that the white T-shirt inside would stand out. I tried to express a sense of America that is typical of SHIPS by mixing genres.
I like to wear T-shirts in a loose fit, even though it is common practice to do so. If it is plain, I almost always wear a white crew-neck T-shirt. I wear them as innerwear, and of course I also wear them alone. I think the strength of "Haynes' Japan Fit" is that it can be used in both ways. It's also comfortable, so I think it's the kind of T-shirt that I just slip my sleeves on when I wake up in the morning.
