A look back at THE CAMP BOOK 2019, two days of celebrating the great nature and music of Yatsugatake.

Last June 8 (Sat.) and 9 (Sun.) . THE CAMP BOOK 2019, an outdoor music festival to enjoy music in the great outdoors, was held at Fujimi Kogen Resort. Under the name of the concept "Let's learn and play together," which has been upheld since the first edition, the festival was impressive with families with children and dogs, as well as adults who did not forget their playful spirit. . HOUYHNHNM's editorial staff reports on what they witnessed as visitors savored the festival.

There are ten different ways to play. Play with a lot of content.

Free lift to and from the stage in the venue. It was very popular because it offered a panoramic view of the venue.

THE CAMP BOOK is held every year in a different location, and this year's venue, Fujimi Kogen Resort, is located at the foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains at an elevation of about 1,300 meters. The area around the resort is lined with hot springs, and offers golfing, hiking, bird-watching, and other leisure activities.

We arrived at Kobuchizawa Station, the nearest station to the venue, in less than two hours on the Chuo Line rapid train from Shinjuku Station. As soon as we arrived at the station, we were surrounded by mountains and fresh air. Now, the third festival was about to begin.

Flower gardens planted for the summer, tents, and people coming and going naturally coexisted.

As soon as they arrived at the venue, the children's BMX trial time race was a big hit. Yes, "THE CAMP BOOK" is not only about artists' performances, but also about many other contents.

Children take part in a time trial at "MOTELWORKS" produced by professional BMX rider Kotaro Tanaka.

The ping pong table was almost full for the entire two days.

. It is not just children who enjoy these contents to the fullest. They could try their hand at henna tattoo art, which can be enjoyed for about a week at the pop-up store, or try acrylic paints on miniature parking block frames at the UNITE exterior brand. . and there were outdoor brand items for sale, so between artists and artists, there was never too much time to spare.

UNITE challenged the students to make their own miniature parking block frames.

At Studio Locally, an original print store in Katsushika, Tokyo, visitors can experience silk-screen printing.

Yoshiaki Umegaki's (WAHAHAHA Honpo) performance brought the audience to its feet. Screams and cheers were mixed in the air.

Of course, there is also a full lineup of food. We enjoyed a hamburger made with 100% Kofu wine beef from NAP BURGER. It was thick and filled our stomachs.

This year, there were three stages. Camping sites were available near every stage, and we were able to set up our tents near the artists we wanted to see. The TEMPLE STAGE was an artificial turf area where the dew from the rain dried quickly when the weather cleared up, and where you could lie down on the ground; the LODGE STAGE was an open track for athletic competitions; and THE HALL STAGE was the main stage.

The entire venue is compact and can be reached from one end to the other in about 15 minutes. It is a great camping spot, child-friendly, and people were enjoying the event in their own way.

From the full lineup of live performances, the editorial department focuses on four artists. Here is a report on the live performances.
