Relay Marathon In Sapporo

You can enjoy Sapporo to the fullest! Why relay marathons are fun.

Are you running, everyone? It's so hot that I don't even feel like running, but to blow away the doldrums, we headed to Sapporo, Japan! We landed in Sapporo in the summer to participate in the Kita Gas Group 6 Hour Relay Marathon in Sapporo Dome 2019. Rika Yahara, a model, MC, desert runner, beach handball player, and Salomon ambassador, contributed to this report on the 42.195-kilometer race, which loops 2 kilometers around the perimeter of the dome.

Dear Fuinam readers, I am Rika Yaharaka, aka "Yaharasahara Sahara.

I am sometimes asked if I am not interested in road running after having participated in the Desert Marathon (250 km/7 days) twice before, but that is not true! This time I participated in the Kita Gas Group 6 Hour Relay Marathon in Sapporo Dome 2019, which is a fun way to run, eat, and feel like a tourist.

The setting is Sapporo in summer. The humidity is low and it is just comfortable!

Unlike the concrete jungle of Tokyo, Sapporo has low humidity and is comfortable even at the same temperature, making it perfect for a travel run.

Huh, the venue is Sapporo Dome. I shudder to think that such a huge and artistic structure was created by human beings. It's a masterpiece!

This time we participated in the 42.195 km relay marathon. The course is a circuit, with each lap being approximately 2 km. We started inside the Sapporo Dome, ran around the outer perimeter, and came back inside. Ten of us, wearing matching "Salomon" T-shirts, linked our tasuki together.
