MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL 2019

Casual and active . Two days to enjoy the great nature and music.

The North Face and Space Shower teamed up to hold the summer festival "MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL" on August 3 and 4. The event was held at a campground in Nozawaonsen-mura, Nagano Prefecture, and featured a variety of activities including trail running, bouldering, and SUP during the daytime, as well as outdoor live performances by a variety of artists at night. Here is a report on the two-day event, which was blessed with fine weather, and which filled the hearts and minds of the participants with a sense of fulfillment in the great outdoors!

MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL , How was it? A Huynem staff's point of view .

. "After a four-hour car ride to get to the venue, we would immediately start running around the mountains, and at sunset, with beer in one hand, we would sway our bodies to the superb music and drink heavily while staring at the bonfire. Sleeping soundly while suffering on the tatami mats of the cottage, and waking up to chill out on the sap with a hungover body. . On the way home, we got stuck in an accidental traffic jam and finally returned to Tokyo after a six-hour drive. The two days passed at a surprisingly fast pace. We ran, drank, and chilled out. What we did was not much different from what we do in the city, but it left a deeper impression on me, probably because I was there in a vast outdoor field. . Perhaps the outdoors is the best playground that naturally stimulates the primitive side of people. I wish it would be held at least once a month, not once a year."

It's been a while since I've experienced trail running . . It was different from running in the gym. I felt nature, used my head, and ran around as if I was a child again. . The same goes for top-rope climbing. Fear, perseverance, and the route to the top (the power of thought) were all put to full use. When I touched the goal, I was so happy! . I was also happy to hear the cheers from the people around me. The bath after sweating it out, the live music at night, and the delicious drinks were great. Anyway, the two days went by in the blink of an eye. Outdoor activities, music, and drinks . I don't think there is any other combination that goes so well together. I would definitely attend again!"

. In fact, three weeks before this event, I had just visited Nozawa Onsen to participate in a 65-km trail running race called The 4100D Mountain Trail. . I managed to finish that race in over 14 hours. . After the finish line, I was exhausted and full of wounds. I was so beaten down that I thought, "I'm done with trail running for the time being. ...... So, when I heard about this event, I was a bit reluctant to run it again in Nozawa Onsen ......? I was a bit reluctant to go. But as it turned out, I am very glad I went! The trail run was a good distance and the course was nice and comfortable, and I had a lot of fun with my first SUP and top-rope climbing experiences (both of which I would like to do again if I have the chance!) ), enjoying music outdoors at night was also a new experience for me, and I was able to drink plenty of beer, which I love. And the venue, Staca Lake Campground, was cool and nice; when I raced through there three weeks ago, there was a thick fog and zero visibility, but I never realized how nice it was when the weather was nice and the view was so great!
