What kind of sneakers are "Stan Smiths" for you?
I think they are one of my favorite models from adidas, and their timeless design is very attractive. I also think they have a clean and sophisticated image. I've been wearing 'Stan Smiths' for a long time, and I still wear them often. They can be worn beautifully depending on the occasion or outfit, and I also like the worn-out look, so I think they are very versatile sneakers.
How did you like this special-order model?
I thought they were an easy pair to match regardless of style, since they were based on a simple "Stan Smith" design without showing differences through unnecessary decorations or eccentric designs. I could immediately tell that the leather in particular was of high quality by the feel of the leather and the way it wore through my feet. I quite like the clean last, and I think the gold accents are also designed to tickle the hearts of our generation.
Do you have any rules for wearing clean white sneakers?
My rule is to take good care of my sneakers, no matter what kind of sneakers I wear. However, when skating, for example, I try to enjoy the functions of sneakers to the fullest, because I cannot enjoy skating if I am too careful. Well, in my case, the rules change depending on where I go and what I do (laughs).

He has worked on styling and costume production for musicians and actors, mainly for men's fashion magazines and advertising visuals. In recent years, he has expanded his activities as a multi-talented creator, serving as a branding advisor for apparel brands.
Hashimoto-san, can you tell us about your memories of the first pair of "Stan Smiths" you ever wore?
When I was wearing Stan Smiths, green heel tabs were the norm. I just didn't look good in them, so navy was my favorite. I've also worn a lot of other pairs, including ones from the skateboarding line, a comfort model released in the late 90s, and a collaboration model with Raf Simons. I also really like the pair I made with Hike, and I still wear them these days.
How do you feel when you actually wear these special order "Stan Smiths"?
The quality of the leather is better than I expected, and the design has a certain "Edifice" feel to it, which I like. I like the design and the quality of the leather even more than I expected. The shoes have an excellent fitting so that they fit easily on my feet, making them ideal for street wear. The length of "Stan Smith" pants is surprisingly difficult to find, so I usually try to keep the size balance so that my ankles can be seen a little.
Do you have any rules for wearing bright white sneakers?
As with these shoes, I choose white soles for my sneakers without exception. I also like to keep my white sneakers in good condition when they are freshly grated. I feel comfortable wearing them that way, and it's also my style.

The extremely simple form of these sneakers is a classic that boasts unshakable popularity, and I think that's why they are favored by both men and women alike, no matter what kind of fashion they are worn with. Personally speaking, they are one of the few sneakers that I have continued to wear since my school days, and they are my unchanging standard.
What did you think of the custom-made "Stan Smiths" that you wore this time?
In fact, I'm such a big fan that I've purchased every season's special editions with EDIFICE without fail. I can feel the brand's elegant and French chic mood, and they have a certain sex appeal. The high quality leather upper also gives the shoes a more mature look, and combined with the simple form of the Stan Smiths, they really stand out from the crowd.
Do you have any rules for wearing clean white sneakers?
I sometimes change sizes depending on the design or type, and I am most conscious of the length and hem width of pants. In the case of "Stan Smiths," I always choose a pair 0.5 cm larger than normal sneakers. It is also important to match the color of the socks and to keep them looking as good as new. I never want to wear them on a rainy day (laughs)."
