Renault is a French-born automobile manufacturer. The "TWINGO" is particularly popular for its rounded, compact form and unique design. Combined with its outstanding ride comfort and ease of handling, the TWINGO is also a favorite among the fashion-conscious, who have a strong opinion about cars. France, the home country of Renault, is also known for its beautiful scenery and rich history. It is known as a country that has a strong affinity with Japan, especially Kyoto, the "city of a thousand years," where beauty can be experienced on a daily basis. This time, we took the "Twingo" on a tour of Kyoto. The president of the boutique store "Loftman," Makoto Kimura, served as our navigator around the city. We will visit the spots recommended by Mr. Kimura in the "Twingo".

From Keibunsha Ichijoji, head south to the next spot, Antiques Truffle KYOTO. On the way, you can see the torii gate of Yoshida Shrine. The store is located on Shikagaya-dori, a quiet residential street, but is also in a great location, easily accessible to sightseeing spots such as Ginkakuji Temple. Upon arriving at the store, you will find that the floor is filled with antique goods collected from France, England, and other European countries. The diverse lineup of furniture, glasses, cutlery, old books, and more will make even the most discerning connoisseur gasp in delight.

Mr. Kimura begins his shopping in front of the countless antiques lined up in the store. His eyes are like buyers themselves.

I think the charm of antiques is the beauty of the form and the feeling of the atmosphere of the time. In addition to the abundance of such items, I also like the calm location along Shikagaya-dori. Also, I often pick up items based on my intuition, and I find myself choosing French-made items more often than not.

Antiques purchased locally are lined up in a space reminiscent of a Western-style house.

Kitchenware, tableware, and jewelry are also available, and one of the best ways to enjoy this place is to visit as a couple or a couple and take your time to find your favorite items. Renault Japon is sponsoring "FUTURE ANTIQUE," an event organized by T-SITE under the theme "From modern craftsmanship to antiques of the future.
