SPOT.4 Fumon-an

Shirakawa-suji is the symbol of Gion, the flower town. The elegant cobblestone streets will lift your spirits.

Kimura smiles, "It makes me happy when I find a place where I can relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Kimura-san drives the Twingo toward Kiyomizu-dera Temple to the next spot, Fumon-an Temple. He is approaching his destination while enjoying the streetscape of Gion.
This restaurant is located near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, but I love its hideaway atmosphere. Even though it is located along Kiyomizu-zaka, which is overflowing with tourists all year round, just one step inside and you will find a surprisingly quiet space. Not only is there a coffee shop with a view of the garden, but you can also get special Kyoto souvenirs.

Terrace seating set up in the garden. Enjoy tea and sweets while feeling the changing of the seasons.
Among the souvenirs available here, the "Kyo Financier" is not to be missed. They are supervised by Pascal Morines, a pastry chef who was awarded the French National Order of the Best Craftsman, and Yasuyuki Vinzuda, a national tea judge with a 10-dan certification. Fermented butter from France and "Shoraku" tea from Kyoto, selected by Mr. Vinzuta, are used as ingredients. It can be said to be a gem that symbolizes the exchange between Kyoto and France.
