Matsuki-san, what is important to you when you take photographs?
Pine trees:I am the type of person who likes to experiment with various possibilities on set.
What do you mean when you say "I want to try various possibilities"?
Pine trees:Some photographers have a certain amount of "how to shoot" in their minds before shooting, but in my case, I want to capture the moment that catches my attention, rather than a predetermined shot. Of course, technique is necessary, but I think good work is created by pursuing ideas and possibilities, such as what is happening at a particular site and how to take good pictures at a particular location.
You want to explore the coincidences that arise from the combination of various elements, rather than the harmony of schedules.
Pine trees:That's right. Also, I recently started a traveling photo studio called "Mori Photo Studio. Unlike regular photo shoots, there is a sense of tension in not knowing who is going to show up, and I can have a direct exchange with the person I am talking to. Once you get used to it, it becomes difficult to find what I consider to be coincidences. So, I want to be able to capture those moments without missing them, and to be able to snap the shutter whenever I feel like it.

Matsuki checks the photos he has taken in his free time. In order to be able to take good photos at any time, he says, "I always carry a camera with me, even if I am not working. He observes everywhere as if lurking in the city, chasing moments of coincidence.

Do you have to dress well for such a photo shoot?
Pine trees:I often move around a lot, changing angles, using telephoto lenses to take pictures from a distance, etc. So it is important for me to feel stress and to be able to move around easily. Therefore, it is important that I do not feel stress and that I can move around easily. Therefore, I choose shoes that are easy to move around in and easy to put on and take off. I don't like leather shoes or hard shoes.
You want to be able to release the shutter at any time without restricting your movement?
Pine trees:Yes, it is.
How do you feel about HOSP in this respect?
Pine trees:It was good. They have cushioning, and since they are Velcro-type, you can adjust the hold by yourself. With laces, you have to worry about the laces coming undone when you move around, but with these, you don't have to worry about that. The design is simple, too, and I don't have any problems with it.

Chatting with the staff during a break. It is an important role of the photographer to communicate well with the models so that a good distance is maintained.
These shoes were originally designed to be worn in hospitals.
Pine trees:I like the comfort of the shoes. It is also nice that the uppers are made of a material that does not seem to get dirty. When shooting in a studio, there are areas where you are not allowed to go in with your feet in the dirt, so I have to take my shoes off a lot. So it is nice to be able to wear them without stepping on the heel. Even when I put them on without stepping on the heel, the heel part is made of soft material, so it felt good.

Do you have anything in mind when coordinating your outfits for these shoes?
Pine trees:As I mentioned earlier, the premise is to wear clothes that are easy to move around in. I also wear my usual clothes (laugh), but in my own way, such as pants from a friend's brand, or sweatshirts from an Osaka brand since I am from Osaka. The only thing I did with these shoes in mind was to match the color of my shirt and coat. However, I often wear brown clothes, so this is just the same as usual (laughs). The shoes are simple, so I can wear them without worrying about anything in particular.
