Item01_The Rolling Stones Parody
T-Shirt

Nakano:Let's start with me. . The first is, as you can see, a Rolling Stones parody T-shirt. . If you look closely, you can see that the teeth have been straightened, and when I checked it out, I found that it was made by a dentist in Houston who specializes in orthodontics. I have seen many parody T-shirts of the Stones, but I thought this shallow design was surprisingly unlikely. It's a goofy idea, but it got me (laughs).
Hatanaka:Certainly it's the kind of stuff that we ourselves would be embarrassed by and avoid doing on the contrary (laughs), but I like the flippancy of a local dentist saying "I like the Stones, so I'll do it.
Nakano:Moreover, this dentist seems a bit too serious from what I've seen on the Internet. If it were a bar or a coffee shop in the city, it would be interesting to know that a well-run company would make something like this.

Hatanaka:The age is recent, right?
Nakano:The body is by "Gildan". Probably around 2005 or 6 , I guess. What do you think of this design, izmt?
izmt:. I would never have thought of this myself (laughs). Yes, I just went to the dentist yesterday, but I never get used to it, no matter how many times I go. I hate dentists.
Hatanaka:I just wanted to ask about the normal design....
Item02_Amusement Park T-Shirt

Nakano:Now for the second look. . I was completely taken by the look of this one. At first I thought it was for a BMX or snowboarding competition....
Hatanaka:The graphic taste and colors look that way.
Nakano:Yes, that's right. . and when I touched it, I found that the ink is very special, and it is colored in a transparent silicon-like ink to express a neon-like feeling. And they used a lot of plates. . I was curious, so I looked it up and found out that it was a souvenir T from an amusement park. . a regular amusement park on the outskirts of Boston.
Hatanaka:. it's surprising to see an amusement park with this design.
Nakano:Yes, there is a huge temperature difference between amusement parks and T-shirt designs . For example, there is a T-shirt of an artist whose design is totally different from the impression of the artist, right? I have a feeling similar to that. This is my imagination, but I think that this T-shirt was designed by the person in charge, who was thrown in charge by his boss, reflecting his own taste as he wished. It is fun to imagine such a thing.

Hatanaka:I see. Is this something that is difficult to print?
izmt:. It would be difficult and, above all, expensive. Actually, I once made something similar in the past. I printed a transparent gel ink on top of the print, but it cost me a lot of money. And it didn't even feel good to the touch (laughs).
Nakano:I was really impressed by the technology and graphics on the amusement park's souvenir T-shirts. And it looks great, too.
Item03_NYS Blackout T-Shirt

Nakano:Next is this.
Hatanaka:. you know, the one from the big blackout in New York City.
Nakano:. the one from when New York City had a major blackout in 2003. I was watching the news in Japan at the time, and two days later, the news reported that a street vendor in the city was selling these T-shirts. I was surprised that they were already making T-shirts even though the power was out (laugh).
Hatanaka:As I recall, these T-shirts were made in great numbers at the time.
Nakano:I think there were quite a few of them around. But still, the graphics were cool, and the squeaky-clean look seemed to be in the "Zorach" vein.
Hatanaka:That's certainly what the font looks like.
izmt:. And there's also a RUN DMC or Kanye West's "The College Dropout" kind of vibe. . I wonder if these ideas and designs are New York-like.

Nakano:. It's a unique black feeling, I guess. And the "I SURVIVED THE BLACKOUT" logo on the back is great. I have always liked the sound of "survival".
izmt:I understand. I'm just watching a survival show on the Discovery Channel right now, and Ed and Bear are in trouble.
Hatanaka:Hey izmt, you are getting off track again....
Item04_Google Parody T-Shirt

Nakano:Next is a Google bootleg. It looks like it was sold in a resort called Puerto Varas, Mexico.
Hatanaka:It's like the crackpot souvenir T's you see at tourist attractions.
Nakano:The message on the back of the bag reads, "I don't need My wife knows everything! I don't need my wife knows everything! I don't need my wife knows everything! . Foreigners are so good at coming up with silly messages like that.
izmt:There's a pun in the phrasing.
Nakano:And it was cool to do it all with Google. Puerto Varas has nothing to do with Google. I like this irrelevance. I picked this one simply because of that.

izmt:. I remember once, I went to Kagawa Prefecture, Nakano-kun's parents' home. We climbed Mt. Kompira, and there were many souvenir shops at the entrance. Parking was free, but there was a lot of pressure to buy some souvenirs on the way back.... As I recall, you have to pay a fee to borrow a stick from the gift shop. I believe you have to pay to borrow a stick from the souvenir shop to use when climbing the mountain. This T-shirt reminded me of that time on Mt.
Hatanaka:Hey izmt, pull yourself together!
Item05_Local Restaurant T-Shirt

Nakano:. and finally, this one. This is an original T-shirt of an Italian restaurant in the same place as the Google one I mentioned earlier. This is a stylish design for a restaurant, isn't it?
Hatanaka:It's like a Freudian trompe l'oeil, and it's great. . I've seen that picture on T-shirts in the 80's or so. But why is this painting in an Italian restaurant?
Nakano:Maybe the restaurant owner was a womanizer. Freud's trompe l'oeil, I hear, was a sarcastic way of saying, "You talk so much about psychoanalysis, but all you can think about is women, don't you? He was being sarcastic.
Hatanaka:Heh, I didn't know it had such a meaning. This T-shirt has a charm that cannot be summed up in just a restaurant souvenir T-shirt, doesn't it? It can also be enjoyed as an art T-shirt.
