White Mountaineering will launch a small collection called "Repose Wear" at the end of May as part of its mid-season collection. The word "repose" means "rest. In other words, "Repose Wear" is, in layman's terms, relaxation wear. We asked Mr. Aizawa about the true purpose of creating such a concept item at this time.

The first reason why we created these items is because we thought there would be a need for relaxing wear in these days when people spend most of their time at home. Then, we decided to create not just relaxing clothes, but relaxing clothes that are unique to White Mountaineering, and we worked out the silhouettes and other details for 'Repose Wear.

These pants are an adaptation of a popular item that has been released in the past as "repose wear. The belt version has been changed to a shirred waistband and tied with a string.

These pants, which were also popular in previous collections, have a Hakama-like form and have been updated as "repose wear. The point of this collection is to create something that is fashionable. In other words, the minimum requirement is that the pants be comfortable to wear, but at the same time, they should be made with a sense of current fashion. This idea may not seem to be common.

White Mountaineering has a basic collection called "wardrobe," but how is it different from that?

Wardrobe" is a very different starting point in the sense that we wanted to make items that would look good even when worn alone, for example, with a shirt, and that would have depth. The starting point is completely different.

We are proposing a slightly oversized form overall for the "Repose Wear" collection. In the past, we have made wide silhouette pants in our collection line, but the concept is different from that.
