10 sagger and charcher. bringing Leapipes of the late 90's back to life in the modern age.

10 saggars and charcters.
Reviving Leapipes in the late 90's in the modern era.

Surfing, travel, fun... the brands "10box" and "ChahChah" are brands that incorporate all kinds of lifestyles into their clothes. Last year, these two brands were joined by Lee to create exclusive items for the Freaks Store. It has been about a year since then, and this time, "10 sagger" and "ChahChah," both of which pursue unique manufacturing, focused on "Lee Pipes," Lee's extreme sports line that was released in 1997. How were these new products born? The representatives of the two brands had memories of their younger days.

Three years ago, I learned about "Lee Pipes" in the 1990s in LA.

Last year's item received a great response, and this is the second installment.

YUTA: In addition to being the director of Chah Chah, YUTA is also a distributor for domestic and international brands. A surfer by nature.

YUTA:Previously.Collaboration on "Westerner" by LeeAfter that, I went to "Lee" for a meeting and happened to see the "Lee Pipes" lineup. When I went to "Lee" for a meeting after that, I happened to see the "Lee Pipes" lineup. Then we said, "Let's do something with it," and that's how it all started.

PIGU:〈10匣〉Designer, travels abroad for half of the year and forms diverse communities. He builds a unique world view with his creations born from his travels.

PIGU:Lee Pipes" is a brand that started in 1997, but I actually did not go to the brand. About three years before I started "10 SAGBOX," items from the late 90s, such as "Lee Pipes" and "Zinco," were just coming into fashion in LA. I had been interested in them since then, so when I saw "Lee Pipes" at the meeting, I was a little excited.

The collaboration items to be released this time are from "Cha Cha", "10 SAGBOX" and "Lee Pipes". All items will be sold in small quantities in each size. Overalls ¥24,000yen+tax, Jacket ¥25.000+tax, Shorts ¥15,000+tax

What kind of designs did you see at that time?

PIGU:It was a different color from the nylon ones we produced this time. Also, I think "Lee Pipes" is generally associated with California, but we felt it had a Japanese 90's feel, and we thought that was cool, too.

YUTA: Did you know about this area in the 90's?

Items actually worn by YUTA in the late 90s. The sharply designed "Oakley," a digital watch by "Shark," which was very popular at the time, and a "Volcom" T-shirt.

West Coast brand T-shirts and "Gorose" jewelry. An image of the late 90's by YUTA, who used to play around based in Shibuya.

YUTA:When I entered junior high school, I was influenced by the clothes worn by my seniors who were just two years older than me. I was wearing "Bronze Age" and "Drill" in the first year of junior high school. When I started surfing, I started wearing brands like S.M.P. and Lost.

Mr. Pigu listens to music on cassette tapes in his car, and this is his favorite cassette from the 90s. House of Pain, Lauryn Hill, DJ Hasebe's DJ mixes, Misha, and a blend of Japanese and Western music that seems to have been made in those days.

PIGU:The same is true in L.A., and Japan as well, but nowadays, "next vintage" is being paid attention to such things as "Quicksilver" and "Gotcha" from the 90s. Lee Pipes is also getting a lot of attention in that way.
