How would working people play? B-side snapshot of Shibuya PARCO.
~October Edition~.

A menu that is not posted on the wall of a Machinuka restaurant may be delicious, a comedian may be better suited for radio than TV, or you may find a small corner of a person you have been reluctant to get close to. It is the things that do not usually appear on the surface that hide the true essence of a thing. It has been a year since Shibuya PARCO opened, but I am sure that there are still unknown possibilities lying dormant. The big turret is supported by many tenants, and by extension, by the people who work there. From this month, HOUYHNHNM's and GIRL HOUYHNHNM's will explore the charm of Shibuya PARCO through its "people"-the store staff. You will surely want to go and meet them ♡!

SIDE-A

Takumi Fujimura / 2F THE NORTH FACE LAB

She has a wonderful carefree smile. She is in charge of SNS at the store, and she is in charge of the store's newest products every day.InstagramThe information is sent out on the following website. By the way, the image movie posted on the account is being made by an aspiring film director.

SIDE-B Three sips a week at "Onyanma."

The North Face〉Jacket ¥18,000+TAX, pants ¥18,000+TAX (The North Face 03-6455-0586), all other items: personal effects

Udon noodles are also customized to your liking.

When did you start working at The NORTHFACE LABORATORY Shibuya Parco?

Fujimura:I started working at The NORTH FACE when I was in high school. I started working at The North Face when I was in high school, working part-time in my hometown of Nagano. After graduating from college, I worked as a tour guide for a travel agency, and then worked at The North Face in Nagano and The North Face Standard in Harajuku before coming to work here today.

You've been to all kinds of stores, but what kind of customers did you have in Nagano?

Fujimura:Many people brought me vegetables, probably because of the location (laughs). (Laughs) Some people came to talk to us every day, and we sometimes went out for drinks after work.

You must have been very close.

Fujimura:That's right. Labo" also offers customization services for clothing, so in a sense, we are close to each other. Since we work together to create a piece of clothing, it is a different kind of fun than selling something that has already been made, and it helps to develop communication and imagination. The customer base is wide, which is unique and interesting to PARCO.

You wear a lab coat at the store, but what do you wear in your private life?

Fujimura:I wear what I like when I like. I don't have a particular brand, but I try to keep TPO in mind.

Do you have any recent purchases in Parco?

Fujimura:I bought a birthday present for a friend at Puebco on the 3rd floor, and I also bought a pleated jacket at Issey Miyake on the 2nd floor. I also like things that are the exact opposite of the functionality of the outdoor wear I deal with at work.

Mr. Fujimura also wears a chrome heart on his hand. While lab clerks are designated to wear lab coats, they also show their individuality in other ways.

Fujimura:That's true. Other stores have restrictions on hair and what you can wear, but here at PARCO, we are free to do what we want.

Do the staff members get along well with each other?

Fujimura:We are good friends! The other day we went camping in Manazuru. We all like outdoor activities, so some of us do climbing and others climb mountains.

I see. Where do you usually go for lunch?

Fujimura:This is Onyanma, an udon restaurant on the first basement floor. Since I go there 2 or 3 times a week, the waitress and I have finally become good friends and say "Good job" to each other (laugh). I always ask for one choice, "Toriten Oroshi Shoyu" (toriten with grated radish and soy sauce). Actually, there is one way I always try to eat it...

What is it...?

Fujimura:After the soy sauce has been poured, pour a large amount of this shichimi over the top! The key is to double the amount once you are halfway through the dish.

You like spicy food, don't you?

Fujimura:I am from Nagano, and I like Hachimanya Isogoro chili peppers made at Zenkoji Temple. I miss it even more now that I am in Tokyo, and every time I eat udon, it reminds me of my hometown.

So that's the story behind it.

Lastly, what items do you recommend for this season?

Fujimura:There are two! The first one is the Bartolo Light Jacket (¥55,000+tax *custom prices vary). We are already inundated with reservations for this jacket, which can be customized starting this year. The color and size can be freely decided, and considering that we customize it to fit each customer, it is not expensive.

Can I reserve it on the website like other items?

Fujimura:Yes. The other is this jacket that I am wearing right now. It is lightweight and easy to throw on, and it is convenient to have. It is fully lined and two-ply, so it looks very tailored.

It's a good time of year to be subtle. And now, it's getting crowded in Onyanma, so let's call it a night! Thank you very much.

THE NORTH FACE LAB

The lineup includes "SUMMIT SERIES" consisting of products for polar regions, "PURPLE LABEL," a limited-edition collection created in collaboration with NANAMICA with "nature" as the keyword, and "141 CUSTOMS," which creates one-of-a-kind outdoor wear. The sales style is very close to the customers, just like a workshop.
