What I would like to do in the future with this store.

BRICK & MORTAR is located a short distance from Nakameguro station.
And "BRICK & MORTAR"? Why did you start it?
Atsushi: There are two things. . First, I wanted a place where Zhou could create artwork and where he could put it. . On the other hand, he needed to make art a business. . I started the store as a combination of these two things.
Do you have any selections?
Zhou: Nowadays, there are almost none. There used to be about half.
. You currently have art exhibits and Amabro products on display. Do you have any plans for the store in the future?
Zhou: Freshness is the most important thing when it comes to ideas and inspiration. At a counter sushi restaurant, the owner quickly serves fresh ingredients. So I would like to make this place a place where I can immediately give shape to my ideas, display them, and show them to customers. That is why I am currently working on my artwork at a large desk next to the cash register in the store. It's very luxurious, isn't it?

Zhou: For example, in the case of the apparel I mentioned earlier, what we create is announced after half a school year. When we come up with something interesting, we want to announce it immediately. If we do it half a year too late, we get tired of it.
Do you plan your projects as a company based on what comes from within you and your own unique cycle?
Yuya: What makes us different from the big manufacturers is that we make our products without marketing. We make what we think is good.
Making something that we want is a way of making things that makes sense and gives us a sense of responsibility. I think this is the most proper form.
Zhou: . We enjoy the work we receive, but now we are having a lot of fun communicating our own ideas. I was supporting the exhibition of Kaoru Uno, a longtime friend and Brazilian jiu-jitsu master, at "BRICK & MORTAR" until the other day, from planning to management. I also presented my artwork during the event, and silk-screened the customers' T-shirts. I think our strength lies in our ability to work as a package.
Do you have a desire to pass on or preserve culture like Arita-yaki?

Above: Curry dish supervised by Hanako Tsurezure of "zen to
Bottom: Curry dish by Yuhi Komiyama of "zen to.
Both are so popular that when they arrive, they are sold out immediately.
Zhou: . I still want to respect the production area of pottery and do what I can to help it survive, even if it is just a little. I asked Yuhi Komiyama and Hanako Tsurezure to supervise the production of curry plates under the Hasamiyaki brand "zen to. Hanako Tsurezure's plates have arabesque patterns of spice plants. There is a young generation growing up in various areas who are doing this kind of work, and I hope that we can do something new while preserving traditions with this kind of sensibility.

Many eco-bags on the market are compact, lightweight, and small, so we created something that is both catchy and prioritizes the material. By using TPU material, which is often used as a raincoat, and by showing many color variations, I hope that the appeal of this new material will be conveyed.
