Brands that care about the environment are trustworthy.
You are from Hachijojima Island, is it cold in Tokyo in the fall and winter?
Sasamoto: Hachijojima is warmer than Tokyo. . though it is better to have a down coat just in case. Last time, it snowed for the first time in a long time , and there was a big fuss about it.
Do you know anyone from Hachijojima?
Sasamoto: This is Mr. Jiro Konami, a photographer. . For the first time, it was Mr. Jiro who photographed me as a model.
What is Hachijojima like?
Sasamoto: If a 100 yen store opens, people will line up for it , and there are no convenience stores. All the stores close at 1:00 a.m. . The food is good, the stars are beautiful, and there is nothing but nature. The food is good, the stars are beautiful, and there is nothing but nature . . I would like to go home, but it will be difficult for a while because of Corona.
MUJI: Did you know about MUJI when you first came here (to the main island)?
Sasamoto: Yes, I do. I have a lot of sundries, pencil cases, notebooks, socks, etc. . I used to wear shoes a lot. I used to use Aron Alpha to hold the worn-out parts for skateboarding. The soles were not too thick, so I could feel the board, and it was easy to skateboard.
A. How often do you skateboard now?
Sasamoto: About 4-5 times a week. After the store, we all get together and go skiing. I am also addicted to fishing.
Where do you fish?
Sasamoto: . I often fish at the mouths of the Arakawa and Sumida rivers near the sea. In the rivers near the sea, I fish according to the ebb and flow of the tide, and the other day I caught a big sea bass (sea bass) of 70 cm. . The water is not very clean, though, so I catch and release it without eating it.
What do you think of MUJI items?
Sasamoto: . today's knit and down are simple and easy to use. . Since I usually skateboard, I don't usually dress that neatly because it gets dirty and rips easily. However, when I go out to dinner with a girl, I dress a little nicer, and today's knit is perfect. . Also, I often wear a down coat when I skateboard. It gets hot quickly when skateboarding, so I don't want a thick down, but a thin and light down like this one.
The yak/wool blend knitwear also utilizes natural cycles to secure the hair for its raw materials. The down is also made with animal welfare in mind.
Sasamoto: I love Sakana-kun, and I checked out the video of him speaking at the Diet before. He talked about the problem of microplastics and the impact of global warming on the oceans, etc., and I felt that I should really take care of the oceans as well. I don't litter, and I pick up trash on my way to fishing. Also, if I have friends who throw garbage away, I will be sure to warn them.
That's because you know the ocean through fishing, isn't it?
Sasamoto: Yes, that's right. I prefer brands such as MUJI, which are environmentally conscious, and I am sure that I can trust them.
