Sometimes it is better not to say much, and sometimes it is better to say it clearly.

Kawahara-san's music gives me a strange impression: at first glance, it doesn't seem too assertive, but in fact, it is very strong.
Riverbanks: I guess it's because I'm trying to figure out how to communicate. Sometimes it's better not to say much, and sometimes it's better to say it clearly.
I guess you mean like a bargaining chip.
Riverbanks: For example, when I say the words "I love you" in a song, it ends. But there are some moments that are better because they end, and there are other times when it's better to set the mood before that. Like when it smells really good...or maybe there are flowers. There are many choices: whether to suddenly place the words in an empty clearing, or whether to create an atmosphere before placing them, or whether to let the emotions of the moment take over.
There are a lot of different recipients.
Riverbanks: If we are going to go to the trouble of communicating, we want to make it while considering what will resonate with everyone. This year, one of our themes was to create "songs that resonate.
What do you have in store for TENDRE next year?
Riverbanks: In a positive sense, I think the current music scene can be said to be one in which genres are collapsing. So next year, I hope to make music with more flexibility and freedom.
Do you have a specific image in mind?
Riverbanks: I want to create something that will reach not only my current fans, but also people who don't know me. As an example, I would like to create a sound that presents vintage references to make people nostalgic, or a song that will make people aware of good old music. There are many things I would like to do. We still have a long way to go.
