Do you usually drink alcohol?
Sasaki: I have always liked to drink, but since working on improving my constitution, my diet has changed considerably, including my drinking. These days, I don't drink beer at all, and I often drink tequila and brandy. . I am not a strong drinker to begin with, so I drink small amounts.

Do you ever get together and have a drink together?
Sasaki: I used to drink with friends every day, but since I moved to Shinagawa-ku four years ago, I have been drinking much less, and that's almost never now, partly due to Corona.
I bought this tactical chair from Helinox a couple of years ago. I have other chairs of the same brand, but this one is the lightest and I like its inorganic coloring, so it gets a lot of use. Originally it had a blue frame, but I painted it black to customize it."
Have you ever been solo camping before?
Sasaki: I've been camping with multiple people countless times, but this is my first time solo. However, I have always been interested in it and have always wanted to go when I have time.
I see. What is it that you are looking for in a solo camp?
Sasaki: From the time you drive to the campsite, to the time you pitch your tent, to the time you cook dinner and go to bed, is it that you do all of this in your own time? . To spend time as one pleases, without anyone getting in the way. . And it's nice to be in the middle of nature, too, which is an extraordinary feeling.
It is true that after living in the city for so long, I feel like I want to be in nature.
Sasaki: I really think so. Also, in terms of facing nature, surfing is similar. Even if you go with friends, you are alone on the sea. You are reminded of your own existence.

Sasaki: I have come to care more about quality than quantity. . When I was in my 20s, I used to drink beer all the time (laughs). But as I entered my 30s and my environment changed, the types of alcohol I drank also changed. After all, good food is better. It's the same as looking for a restaurant.
What do you think of bourbon and whiskey?
Sasaki: I like it now, but I used to think of it as something you drink when you get older. I used to think of it as something you drink when you are older, like drinking it on the rocks in a round glass with ice on the counter at a bar. Well, I guess I am getting old in my own way (laughs).
I think I know what you mean (laughs). But recently, with the push of the highball, it has become so familiar that it has become a staple drink at izakaya (Japanese-style pubs).
Sasaki: Yes, it is true, and I think the bar has been lowered, in a good way, for people in their 20s as well.

Sasaki: Of course . There was a time when I was into highballs, and I bought and tried many different whiskeys. At that time, I was only aware of "American whiskey," but I also drank "Wild Turkey.
