Mr. Kayama is a senior musician with multiple recordings.

Do you remember when Tamio-san and Kayama-san first met?
Okuda: When was the first time? I had an acquaintance, and he started inviting me to visit him at Kayama-san's place. A few of us were invited, and we were taken on a boat by Mr. Kayama, where we were treated to dinner. I heard rumors about the scale of the boats, such as, "When a boat enters the marina, the marina will be filled to overflowing with Mr. Kayama's boats.
What kind of a musician are you going to be?
Okuda: I guess it's not quite the same as home recording, but Mr. Kayama, you do multiple recordings of instruments, singing, etc. . . Since he was young, I think he was the first in Japan. I did not know that before tape recorders, he used a wire recorder imported from overseas. He was a pioneer, wasn't he?
You are also involved in multiple recording projects, such as the home recording project "Kantan Kantabile," aren't you?
Okuda: Oh, yes. I was interested in recording when I was in elementary and junior high school, so I set up two boomboxes and did things like multiple recording and played with them, like humming and singing. I had been listening to your music since I was a child, and when I heard that you wrote all of your own songs, I was amazed. I was interested in recording, so I admired Mr. Kayama as a role model.
Kayama-san's image may be different for each generation: entertainer, musician, movie actor, and so on. Which image do you have of Tamio-san?
Okuda: I have the image of a cool movie actor, don't I? (In "The Young Master of the Electric Guitar" (starring Kayama-san), he plays the guitar in a cool way, and he is not only an actor but also a musician. I think young people today have a strong image of him as a musician, but in the past it might have been the opposite.
