Dyson is a British home appliance manufacturer famous for its powerful cyclone vacuum cleaners and bladeless fans. Did you know that Dyson also makes lighting? We asked Hiroshi Fujiwara, who was one of the first to recognize the high design and functionality of these products and uses them in his home, about their appeal.
Fujiwara:I had been looking for a good looking light to put in my living room for a long time and happened to see it online or in a magazine or something. I thought it looked good and ordered it right away.

Fujiwara:It's very good. The light intensity can be adjusted with a touch sensor, and the height and length of the arm can be freely moved. It is convenient and comfortable to use.
The first one I bought was a floor light. I put it behind the sofa in the living room and use it as a reading light. Most floor lights are placed in a corner of a room and used as indirect lighting, but the Dyson one illuminates from above when you sit on the sofa, so it is suitable for reading books and magazines. I have been looking for something like that for a long time.
As for the color of the light, the floor light is a bulb color, but this desk light is white. Personally, I prefer the white light.
Fujiwara:The most important thing is that the light should illuminate the desired area. And if the design is good, even better. In this respect, I really like Dyson lighting, both in terms of function and design.
Fujiwara:I don't work at a desk, either at home or in the office, so I guess I'm not a good fit. I usually work on the couch. Or I lie on my bed (laughs). Anyway, it is good that there are so many choices. I hope there will be more variations in the future, such as larger types and brighter light.
Fujiwara:I don't like things that are overly designed or too modern, and I like things that are simple. I like simple things. That hasn't changed in the past.
Fujiwara:Dyson vacuum cleaners have a strong image. I personally ordered a Dyson vacuum cleaner from the UK more than 15 years ago, before the company officially arrived in Japan. The design is unique and the functions are excellent.
I also use the hair dryer that was released last year. It is very useful because the wind is powerful and my hair dries quickly.
Fujiwara:In the past, there was no need for design in home appliances, and there were very few home appliances with good design. But after Dyson came on the scene, well-designed home appliances began to appear one after another. In that sense, I think Dyson is a manufacturer that has greatly changed the trend of home appliance design.
That is why, from the consumer's point of view, it is not strange to see such a well-designed lighting product from "Dyson," but I feel that it will have a great impact on the market.
Dyson's "CSYS" task light, with its "heat pipe technology" that effectively cools the LEDs, has a long life of up to 144,000 hours.
In addition to the "3 Axis Glide Motion" that can be freely adjusted in parallel, perpendicular, or 360° rotation, it also features a "touch-sensitive continuous dimming function" that provides optimal brightness for any situation.
