Your "Sarzen" backpack looks great with your natural styling. What is the point of today's fashion?
This is a coat by Yohji Yamamoto, a brand I have loved since I was 20 years old, and many of them I still wear today. Today's styling is one-tone.

What do you put inside?
Beloved computers, cameras, and books. Cameras are compact film cameras and Polaroids. I also use an SLR for work, but I usually carry a camera of a size that is easy to carry. This bag seems to hold everything I need. Moreover, I like that it does not lose its shape no matter how much I put in it. My lifestyle is minimalist, and I am attracted to products that are functional and look smart.
It certainly looks smart and light. What do you think when you actually carry it on your back?
Perhaps because the backpack itself is light, you may not feel the weight of it even when loaded. Backpacks are hard on the shoulders, aren't they? But with this one, the shoulder straps fit the body and the weight seems to be dispersed.
The shoulder straps used in Sarzen backpacks are based on human body engineering, which took more than two years to develop in Germany.
I see. It is highly functional and has a classy appearance. It seems to be easy to incorporate into one's usual fashion.

When did you start taking pictures?
Seven years ago, I became interested in cameras after being influenced by a photographer I met at a photo shoot. When I first started, I bought a simple camera and took pictures of my work with friends. Gradually, it led to work...and now I often photograph models and artists.
So you learned on your own. How did you get a feel for it?
I take pictures as I feel like it, so I never worry about lighting or composition. Instead, I always think about what I want to photograph. I found myself taking pictures all the time, and I started to end up with something I liked.

I see that many of your works are born from the shutter release in your natural state, rather than from a preconceived idea.
That's right. I want to capture in my photographs those moments of beauty and inspiration that are hidden in ordinary, everyday life. When I am spending time with models and artists, these moments occur even when I am at work. I don't want to miss out on the little glimpses of brilliance at any time.
It is true that the charm of your works is that they are not made up. Is that one of your strengths?
What do you think? It is true that keeping a photo of what your friends and yourself really experienced as a skin-feeling photo may feel healthier than an artificial one.

Have you changed your attitude toward modeling since you became a photographer?
In a good way, I think I have become less uptight. I used to think that I had to concentrate on looking good, and perhaps that made modeling difficult for me. However, now that I have experienced being on the set as a photographer, I feel that I get better results when I participate in the work in a natural way.
A few minutes ago, I heard that you lead a minimalist lifestyle. Is there a relationship between being "minimalist" and being "natural"?
Yes, not overdoing it or embellishing with superfluous things may be the common denominator of "minimalism" and "spontaneity. Basically, I feel that the camera is there alongside the people I like to spend time with.

Do you think a "Sarzen" backpack would fit into your lifestyle?
Yes, I like it! This backpack is simple and functional, but it doesn't look like I'm trying too hard (laughs). When I was in my 20s, I had high ideals and put a lot of effort into my styling, but now, as I am exposed to a wide range of culture, I think I have realized that I am more comfortable with a natural look. This backpack is also comfortable to carry.

The "SAVVY" has a dedicated compartment, making it ideal for those who work with a PC. It can also easily hold a minimum of personal belongings, such as valuables and drinks. It is also loaded with features such as an ultra-lightweight suit strap that reduces the burden on the shoulder, highly durable/hydrogen-repellent material, and a water-repellent zipper. The unique rounded form blends seamlessly with any coordination.
