They are completely different from the models I have worn in the past.

. First of all, please tell us what you think of the All Star 100.

I originally had the impression that the All Star was a "classic sneaker from the past"... but these are easy to wear! Especially when it comes to cushioning, they are completely different from the models I have worn in the past. I really felt that the functionality has been updated while keeping the same look and design. I usually only wear sneakers, and they fit my style, which is based on the theme of "a style that doesn't tire me out.

The "All Star 100" shoes you wore this time have the letters on the heel label and ankle patches arranged in hiragana. The vivid yellow upper was a perfect match with Tomason's world view.

I seem to unconsciously adopt primary colors naturally, and when I look around me, I see a lot of yellow things. So the moment I saw these shoes, I knew they would look great with this outerwear, and when I tried them on, I was right. And since the shoes have a cute design, I chose military pants with a slightly masculine look for the bottoms. For the innerwear, I chose a bright red polo shirt so that the strong colors would clash with the assertive shoes. In short, I coordinated the outfit with the color scheme of the monster I envisioned.

. Moreover, you customize the outerwear with your own artwork, don't you?

It's more of a playful sense, though, like I'm painting on cheap clothes I found at a thrift store, not as a work of art, but just for the heck of it. I have been drawing monsters for 10 years now, and I don't feel comfortable in ordinary clothes. Originally, I didn't wear anything too flashy, but recently I have started to consciously incorporate it into my work, and I try to dress in a way that fits the character of Tomason. In fact, the relationship between creators and creations is probably in the opposite order (smiles).

Tomason, the monsters you draw are in great demand nowadays.

Motifs. It's become so routine that I feel uncomfortable if I don't draw. When I draw as a work of art, I draw by hand on paper, but when I don't have time, I sometimes draw quickly using an app on my smartphone. In such cases, however, it is a ritual to discharge what has accumulated inside me, so sometimes I end up without coloring. As long as I am alive, monsters will be born forever, and I would like to keep a record of them in the future.

When do you feel "fun" when you are painting?

I almost never draw while thinking about something, but it is the moment when a monster that I have never seen before is born. It gives me a sense of elation similar to the feeling I get when I get the character I was hoping for in the gacha-gacha (gacha-gacha) game. On the other hand, there are times when it doesn't feel right. But after a few years, it suddenly looks good... That's why it's interesting to draw monsters.

ALL STAR HI HRGN HI ¥8,250 Based on the ALL STAR 100 with improved cushioning and slip resistance, the right ankle patch and left heel label are arranged in hiragana characters. As the sub-theme "CHEERFUL" suggests, the fun and playful design looks great on the feet.
