Renovation By Pacific Furniture Service
Utanan:I had "Pacific Furniture Services" do the renovations about two years ago. I'm glad I entrusted it to them. A guy named Mr. Matsumoto was in charge, and I was impressed with his pitch.
Utanan:In particular, this wall shelf was not in the original plan, but Mr. Matsumoto recommended it, and I took him up on his suggestion (laughs). (Laughs) But I'm really glad we added these shelves. I can store books and other things I like on the living room side, and I have a place to put away a lot of my shoes on the part leading to the entrance.
Utanan:I didn't want a unit bathroom, but I asked them to finish it with French-style tiles, and the bathroom turned out to be just what I wanted. The ceilings are higher now, and it's hard to believe the house used to be a tatami-mat house. I heard that the previous owner was a famous violinist ...... or was it a flutist? (LOL)
French Vintage Cabinet
Utanan:This cabinet is French vintage, used by a printing company in the 50's. They used to store letterpress letters and stuff like that. My grandfather used to have one of these cabinets. My father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all worked in the printing industry. I'm not in the industry anymore, but I wanted to have a family legacy.
Vintage Toucan Lamp From Old Timer Ferrari
Utanan:I have a strong personal attachment to this light as well. I saw it for the first time when I was about 16 or 17 years old, and fell in love with it at first sight when it was sold in an area in Paris where there were many art galleries. I had wanted one since then, but the price was too high for me to afford at the time.... I thought to myself, "When I grow up and have a house of my own, I will definitely buy it. About 8 years later, when I was furnishing my house, I remembered that I wanted to buy a "T-shirt! I searched for "Toucan Light" (Toucan=Toucan ) and it came up right away, so I was impressed and bought it. It was in good condition.
LEGO Botanical Collection
Utanan:I have always loved LEGO. I think LEGO has nurtured my creativity as well. This flower bouquet is from the new Botanical Collection! I told myself, "This is LEGO for adults!
2008y Land Rover Defender 110
Utanan:This 2008 Defender 110 was finally delivered to me in March of this year. I have always loved "Defender" and collected toy cars and racing jackets, so it was like finally getting the real thing.
Utanan:I am the type of person who, if I like something, wants to collect as many things related to it as possible. I think this mindset is also reflected in my work, which is not just about creating one thing, but also about creating a variety of things derived from it to create a worldview.
Utanan:The nice thing about the Defender is that it hasn't looked or functioned much different in almost 50 years. I'm not interested in cars that are quiet and accelerate quickly, like hybrid cars. It's true that customizing a car is all about individuality. I like the rugged look and comfort of a car, but I'd rather have an automatic transmission for easy driving than to have to fiddle with gears in a manual transmission (laughs). So this car originally had a manual gearbox, but I had it converted to an automatic transmission. The only garage that can do this customization is a limited one in England, so I had to wait a long time for it to be completed.
