He is the only BBQ comedian in Japan who loves barbecue and started his career as Takeda Barbecue in December 2012. He enjoys all outdoor activities (camping, fishing, mountain climbing, road biking, hunting deer, etc.). While he is known for his dynamic barbecue recipes, he also proposes easy, stylish, and exciting barbecue recipes that anyone can enjoy, and works to broaden communication through BBQ.
The first camp was a lot of fun, including some troubles.
How did you get into the outdoors?
I was 18 or 19 years old when I got my car license. First, we talked about going camping on the beautiful Shimanto River in Shikoku, but I had never been camping. I wanted to take a drum bath, so I prepared a drum. I didn't have a rice cooker, but I took only the rice cooker pot and the inner lid and cooked rice. It was my first time and I didn't know much about camping, but I had a lot of fun playing this camping game. The drum bath was too hot, and when we put out the fire, there was so much smoke that we couldn't breathe.
How did you start barbecuing?
When we went camping, we used to have a barbecue for lunch. I was also a comedian, so when I was invited to a cherry blossom viewing party by my seniors, I asked them if they wanted to barbecue, and they were surprised at how amazing it was! I thought I should feature it, so I started working as a barbecue comedian.
How did barbecuing affect your career as a comedian?
In our era, TV programs like "Bakusho Red Carpet" and short stories were in full swing, but there were no TV appearances at all because of the narrow gate. However, we were asked for information on barbecue-related topics, such as "Do you have any recipes like this? I was asked for information on barbecue, and it led directly to work right away. Gradually, I started doing less comedy and more barbecue, and when the duo broke up, I took the opportunity to publish a book and gradually shifted my focus to barbecue.

I went to the company (Yoshimoto Kogyo) to tell them that I was quitting as a comedian, but they said, "You have good communication skills through barbecue, so why don't you continue working as a cultural worker? I was told, "A cultural worker? I had never heard of it." A week later, I was told, "I'm Fat Fat, and I'm suddenly in charge of cultural affairs. When are you coming to Tokyo? And then, a week later, "When are you coming to Tokyo? I was told that my affiliation with Bunkajin and my move to Tokyo had been decided on my own (laughs). Well, I thought it sounded interesting, so I came to Tokyo.
