PROFILE
Together with his best friend from his hometown Hiroshima, Mr. Doi, the two co-own PROPS STORE on Killer Street. The store offers an abundance of items that will stimulate your appetite for purchasing, including imported and independent domestic brands of street basics mainly from the U.S., goods from graffiti writers with whom they have close relationships, and thoughtful accessories purchased at souvenir stores and thrift stores. In addition to his knowledge of vintage clothing and American culture, he is also known as a big Hiroshima Carp fan.
Props Store has been carrying Fruit of the Loom items since its opening, right?
That's right. It is a brand that I have personally used since I was a student, and I have strong feelings for it, so we continue to carry it in our store. It is not a domestic standard, but we buy it at American supermarkets and thrift stores, and it is so popular in our store that some customers buy more every season.
Do you have a particular model that you used to use?
It is not a T-shirt, but I usually use a tank top of the "A-Shirt" model about 365 days a year. Compared to other brands, it has excellent elasticity and is large in size, so I find it useful as underwear. In the U.S., this item is so familiar to local people that it sells out around the time of the new school year, and such universality is part of its appeal.
This time, you wore a tie-dye patterned T-shirt instead of a plain one, which is the Japanese standard. What do you think?
Unlike the U.S. standard ones, the wash made the fit awesome. I chose one size larger than usual and it fit perfectly. I was also attracted by the border pattern, which is rare among tie-dye patterns. The border pattern expressed by dyeing is fresh and makes me feel good.
What was the point of your outfit on this day?
In spring and summer, when it is a little chilly and temperature changes are unpredictable, I sometimes wear a jacket, but I thought it would be interesting to add a tie-dye pattern with an unusual design as one of the points of disruption. I thought it would be interesting to wear an unusual tie-dye pattern as a point of disguise.
Ms. Fujii, who has become a style sample for stylists and young fashion lovers, can you tell us about your particular way of choosing and wearing T-shirts?
It's simple, but it's size and ounce. It is a prerequisite to make a choice that suits your favorite style, so if you have these two rules in your mind, you will be able to fit in and look comfortable in your outfits.

A quirky piece with a border pattern, which is rare among tie-dye patterns. The wide pitch of the design allows you to fully enjoy the unique texture of tie-dye dyeing. In addition to the impactful orange and blue colors, the lineup also includes a calm brown base and a basic black and gray color scheme. 6,600 yen
