PROFILE
After working for a long time as a prominent staff member at the popular select store "Ranjoki CENTRAAAAAL" from Kobe, he became independent last year. Currently, he produces various tie-dye dyed items and original doo-rags, which are sold at unique stores in Tokyo. He is also heavily influenced by reggae music, which has made dreadlocks his trademark. He also has a free spirit and is involved in a wide range of activities, including freelance buying, flea market-style pop-up stores, wholesale and agency work for independent brands, and bar and snack store management.
I know that you yourself work with tie-dye patterned items. Can you tell us your impression of the tie-dye patterned T-shirts from that perspective?
Tie-dye patterns have been a trend for the past few years and can often be seen on the streets and in apparel stores, but the bi-color design is fresh among such designs. I thought the balance of the gradation and the color tones were beautiful, perhaps due in part to the unique texture of tie-dye dyeing.
How do you feel about the fit?
Unlike pack T-shirts, the body width is wide and the length is balanced just right. I particularly liked the details that are typical of this season, such as the slit at the hem and the drop-shoulder shape. I think you can coordinate it with a more modern look by wearing it in a big silhouette!
Can you tell us how it goes with the outfit of the day, and what are the key points of coordination?
The tie-dye dyed items and denim pants are my work clothes and daily wear. It was really no different from my normal attire, and I was able to wear it in the same mood as usual. Moreover, the coloring of the T-shirt is turquoise, which is also the name of my good friend's Okinawan izakaya, "Turquoise Okinawa," so I personally like it very much.
Q: And what is it about the tie-dye pattern items that you usually work with that you are so particular about, such as the dyeing process?
I try to avoid common designs such as the so-called "circle" shape, and instead use a quirky design with a large amount of white areas. Also, rather than tie-dyeing, I dye the fabrics as if I were making textiles, so I hope that people will enjoy them as new patterns.
Lastly, can you tell us about the brand image of "Fruit of the Loom" that you have in mind?
As for products, in addition to T-shirts and other apparel, I have a strong impression of trunks, which I have been using for several years. Since they are also an underwear manufacturer, I have no doubt about their quality, and I think that trunks are fresh and new at a time when boxer shorts are in full swing. When I go to the U.S. and other places to buy, I buy a lot of them in bulk, so I've been wearing them all the time lately.

This tie-dye pattern T-shirt is characterized by its wide width and long length, and is dyed in tiers. The unique texture of the tie-dye pattern, with its natural gradation and pale hues, is a key point. In addition, the brand logo is embroidered on the left sleeve and the sleeve has a slit for a relaxed look. Available in pink as well as turquoise. 6,600 yen
