HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB" is newly established as the next community after "HOUYHNHNM Running Club♡"! When we talked to various people, they told us that they had fished several times in their childhood and remembered the fun and excitement of catching fish, but had not done so since they became adults. I am sure anglers can relate to this, but there are so many attractions to fishing that get you hooked, and you enjoy it even more than when you were a child. In order to experience this firsthand, we, almost amateurs, actually went fishing. There are various types of fishing, such as ocean fishing and mountain stream fishing, but we started with bass fishing, which has a high affinity with fashion. How did the first battle of the "HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB" turn out?

Why is HOUYHNHNM fishing?

HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB is starting! I was contacted by Bob Ishii, a.k.a. Bob, the founder of the club. The founder, Ishii (a.k.a. Bob), an editorial staff member of HOUYHNHNM, contacted me out of the blue. Sounds interesting, but fishing in HOUYHNHNM? Everyone, including the members who participated in this fishing trip, had the same doubts. So, to begin with, Ishii explained the background of the formation of HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB.

Ishii:My first spark was fishing clothes. I like the look of gear, and I've been wearing it for a long time. In addition, lures and reels are cool, too, so I was always interested in fishing. I knew I had to try it someday, but I never had the chance to take the plunge. However, I was assigned to do a fishing feature in HOUYHNHNM's magazine "HOUYHNHNM's Unplugged Vol. 11," which went on sale in March, and I interviewed many anglers and found that they were all very cheerful and vivacious. I was surprised to find that people who are in contact with nature on a regular basis are so friendly. I decided to start HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB not because I wanted to catch fish, but because I was attracted to such people and nature. I always liked festivals and camping, but I wanted to get in touch with nature in a deeper way.

I feel like I bond more with people I have played with outdoors. I have had many experiences in the past where we became closer when we went camping together. I think nature has that kind of magic. When you are confronted with nature, your feelings become clearer and you should be able to interact with people in a flat manner. I want to feel the good feeling of connecting with people through nature through fishing. There were many people around me who were fishing or wanted to try it, so I took this opportunity to establish HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB so that we could all start together and share the many other ways to enjoy fishing.
