The power of "Aurora" discussed from a gutsy runner's perspective.
What kind of impression did the members of HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡ have after running in "Aurora"? We discuss the appeal of these shoes from the point of view of a serious runner.

From left to right, Yuichiro Hayashi (Fukuoka Branch Manager, YUTORI RC), Issey Enomoto (Writer, Director of HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡), Hideaki Makino (Running Advisor, HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡), Hiroshi Yamamoto (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡)
Enomoto: What did you feel when you ran in the "Aurora"? Personally, my honest impression is that although they look avant-garde, they are extremely well-made for running shoes.
Makino: I agree. The "Aurora" is one of Brooks' most challenging shoes and is positioned as a concept model. Despite this, they are so well made and surprisingly easy to run in. I was impressed by its high level of perfection as a running shoe.

Forest: These shoes are really easy to run in. The cushioning and resilience of the midsole is not half bad, and the upper fits well, so it is hard to shake your foot in the shoe while running. Also, although they look heavy, they are surprisingly light in my hands, and they are very comfortable to wear.
Yamamoto: Numerically speaking, a 27cm shoe weighs 240 grams. There are other shoes that are lighter than this, but the lightness of the "Aurora" really stands out because of its voluminous appearance.

Makino: What I particularly appreciate about the comfort of the shoes is the return of the midsole when landing. While thick-soled jogging shoes in general provide good cushioning, they also require a bit of force to take the next step. But in the case of "Aurora," you don't need to do that. You can take the next step smoothly.
Enomoto: I think the expression "good return" is apt. It is not just soft and fluffy, but bounces back firmly when it lands.

Yamamoto: Personally, I think it is a fun shoe to land on your heel. When I landed on my heel as hard as I could, I got the sensation of being pushed forward.
Makino: Even elite runners who normally run on the forefoot should dare to land midfoot in these shoes and lightly touch the heel to the ground. By doing so, you will get luxurious rebound and run comfortably.
Forest: It would be great for slow paced jogging, but also for a slightly faster paced run. Like 3.5 to 4 minutes per kilometer.
Makino: Yes, I think so. I might be able to go a little faster pace. I think these shoes have the potential to be suitable for a wide range of levels, from beginners to elite runners.
