Over the past year, the number of people who have discovered the appeal of regular T-shirts has skyrocketed.
So, we asked the three of you to introduce some of your favorite T-shirts. It was very interesting to see them while listening to their stories. Have there been any changes in the situation surrounding regular T-shirts over the past year?
Nakano: I really feel that things have changed drastically. On the other hand, there are more and more people who share our values that are difficult to understand but good in their own way, as well as our thoughts and feelings that we put into our products.
What was the theme of each of the selections?
Nakano: In my case, the common thread that runs through all of my selections this time around is whether or not they are interesting. I often get comments like, "It's so tacky in a good way," but for me personally, I collected items that I thought were genuinely cool! At first, there were T-shirts with skulls from Mexico that I didn't know what they were (laughs).
Izmt: No, no, no. Nakano's selection was the most maniacal. There are a lot of things that you can't understand unless you listen to the explanation or the story (laughs). (Laughs) In that respect, I focused on "message" and "printing technology. I selected the items focusing on these two points, so I thought they would be easy to understand.
Hatanaka: I don't mean to say that all of them are the same, but every product, whether it is Montbell or Extra Large, has a different aspect from what is known to everyone else. I selected these items in the hope that I could suggest this to you. I hope to use this opportunity to convey the message, "It would be a waste to make judgments based on preconceived notions! I hope to use this opportunity to convey the message, "It's a waste to judge by preconceptions!
I can't wait to see what the final lineup looks like.
Nakano: I myself have not seen all the items, so I am looking forward to seeing what the two of them chose on the day. I'm looking forward to seeing what they choose on the day of the show. We'll be talking about how they came at it from this angle and competing with each other to see who can sell the most quickly (laughs).
Hatanaka: Last time it was Nakano-kun who sold the most.
Nakano: Oh no, but this time Izmt-kun is coming at us with a catchy lineup.
Hatanaka: They're definitely coming to win (laughs).
Izmt: Yes, I know. Last year's loss has stuck deep in my heart, so this year I'm going for catchy.
