TAG Heuer was founded in Switzerland in 1860. The TAG Heuer Carrera, which is equipped with a chronograph function and was originally designed for car racers, and other watches that combine design and functionality have attracted men's attention for years. In November 2015, Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer, announced "TAG Heuer Connected," a new line of watches that has captured the attention of the industry. The brand was the first to launch a smartwatch in Switzerland, a country that is home to many luxury watchmakers.
The new TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45, released in March this year, uses the same TAG Heuer Carrera design for the exterior as its predecessor, but adopts Intel's processor and Google's Android Wear wearable device for the OS. By synchronizing with a smartphone via Bluetooth, the watch can be used to check e-mail and LINE, and with Bluetooth-equipped earphones, it can also be used to listen to music. The new model has a digital dial with improved legibility, a GPS function, and water resistance to 50 meters.
And the most distinctive feature of this work is that, as the name "modular" implies, the watch parts and dials can be freely combined. The watch body, called a module, is available in 10 basic models based on titanium, black titanium, and gold, as well as 46 models available on order. The bracelet, buckle, and lugs can be exchanged for optional parts, and the face can be replaced with a mechanical module. In addition, the digital dials are based on chronograph, GMT, and three-hand dials, and can be easily created with a touch of a button. The number of designs is astounding, with more than 4,000 possible.
The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 is attractive in that it can be freely combined according to TPO and personal preferences. It will make all of our occasions, including work and private life, even more special.
