Takahashi Lambda's Delivery Styling for HOUYHNHNM's.
Vol.02 New Era

A classic that is well-known to everyone is often accompanied by various rules and preconceptions that are in proportion to its long history. For example, New Era® caps are a typical example, and it is true that there is a mood in some parts of the world that one should not wear a cap without a deep understanding of the team or home town, not to mention the size selection and how to wear it. However, the appeal of "New Era" is not only the ability to dig deep into such things. You can enjoy it freely according to your own character and style. This time, we received three fresh styles from Ms. Lambda using such "New Era. Don't miss the second installment of HOUYHNHNM's business trip, in which we also talked about some unexpected episodes related to caps and baseballs!

Styling03 West Coast street style balance created with items with tiggy roots

New Era] Cap ¥5,500+tax (New Era/) neweracap.com(Mackintosh / 03-6418-5711), [Mackintosh] coat ¥118,000 + TAX (Mackintosh Aoyama / 03-6418-5711), [Mekipa] parka ¥22,000 + TAX (Unthings / 03-6447-0135), [Dress x Individuated Shirt] shirt 1TP (NISINOYA / 03-6434-0983), (ISNES) shorts ¥26,000+TAX (ALPHA PR / 03-5413-3546)

The combination of the Los Angeles Dodgers cap, baggy shorts, and blue color scheme clearly reflects West Coast culture. However, the items other than the cap have completely different backgrounds, which is playful. The color combination of shades of blue is very clean, but it is also right to enjoy it while keeping in mind that it has too strong a meaning to be worn easily in the local market.

The last coordination is a particularly conceptual color match.

Lambda:It's called bumblebee color matching. I tried to make it look authentic and wessooshy, like the Dodgers with the bees on the crown. I wanted to take advantage of this royal blue color and express it without resorting to paisley patterns or anything like that.

The pants and feet look quite distinctive.

Lambda:I wear elegant shorts with Gurkha details, not Ben Davis or Dickies, on the waist to create a balloon silhouette. Socks are not socks with lines, but ribbed socks for dresses. The suede wallabies that go with them are navy and very classy, too.

It's a pretty innovative mix, but it's beautiful when the colors are all in the same place.

Lambda:The shirt and the "Mekipa" shirt have stripes and borders, but the colors are blue and white. It's simple, but it's something I've never seen before, so I tried to make it while enjoying myself. The visor of the cap is left flat, so that you can't see the back of the brim.

I think the Dodgers logo is iconic. Wouldn't it be nice to have a "Lambda" MBDA? I'll call it "LA" MBDA.

Lambda:I used to wear it for that reason for a while. But I couldn't wear this blue color on a daily basis. I couldn't become like Mr. Kaji (stylist Yuta Kaji) (laughs).

You certainly wear a Dodgers cap quite often, don't you?

Lambda:I guess so. This time, the model is Tomo-kun, who has a different skin and eye color from ours, so I wondered how I could make use of that to show him in an interesting way.

Tomo-kun, your father is from the U.S., but your roots are in Yokohama.

Lambda:Oh, BayStars?

Tomo:Yes. 045.

I think it's bad that your first comment is the station number (laughs).

Lambda:I'm "042. Because it's Mitaka.

It's getting kind of confusing, isn't it (laughs)?

I know you brought your own personal "New Era" today, so could you introduce it to us?

Lambda:I brought several pieces in different materials and molds. First of all, this is a special order from [Supreme]. This is a wool 1001 TP10T, so called a pillbox cap. It is a different color from the one I am wearing today.

It's interesting to see the nuance again.

Lambda:Yup. And when I think of pillbox caps, I think of the (Pittsburgh) Pirates, so I brought this one, too.

You're the Pirates' Auten, aren't you?

Lambda:Yes, yes. Public Enemy was mostly yellow on a black base, but I thought it was cute, too. I have a deep attachment to Pirates. The balance of the font is simply cool.

Dr. Dre was also wearing a Dr. Dre jacket, and there was a strong cultural flavor to the show.

Lambda:Yes, that's right. Lastly, I brought this one as a variation of material. It is also a special order from Supreme, and is made of 100% cashmere. It looks great when worn. I tend to wear pillboxes or something like that, but I like to wear it tight. When I wear it by myself, I put it on.

Do you mean that the way you wear it changes depending on the model?

Lambda:It changes. By the way, there are also goods like this. They are called "Cap & Hat Liner" and "Adjusting Tape".

New Era®〉 (Right) Size adjustment tape ¥400+TAX, (Middle) Cap & hat liner long ¥1,000+TAX, (Right) Regular ¥800+TAX (New Era®)

You mean the kind you put on the inside of the cap?

Lambda:Yup. The liner is a sweatband, which is affixed to the inside of the front to catch sweat coming out of the forehead. And the tape is for fine tuning the size. As an application of wearing caps, I think it is possible to put some tapes on the inside of the back of the cap to make it thicker and to change the silhouette. The shape of a foreigner's head is completely different from ours, and I think it would be possible to reproduce that a little.

I think there are a lot of ways to incorporate caps into your wardrobe. There were a lot of baseball caps on display today.

Lambda:I was a beer vendor for three years in high school. I played softball in junior high and high school, and I was a beer vendor at the Tokyo Dome, aspiring to be a pro. I carried a keg on my back and said, "Would you like a beer? I was a beer vendor for three years in high school.

So you were active on that side of the dome.

Lambda:I was a little kid, but I wanted to be a home run hitter. I wanted to be a home run hitter even though I was small, but when I saw Kiyohara's back from behind the back net, I thought it was impossible. He was too big. I gave up when I saw Kiyohara. ......What are you talking about? (LOL)
