A tool that fits the times .
What exactly is the structure of E5 eyevan's items?
Nakagawa: Mr. Nakamuro explained earlier that "10 Ivan" uses star-shaped screws called Torx screws, which can be tightened with light force. He explained earlier that Ivan uses star-shaped screws called Torx screws, which can be tightened with light force.

Nakagawa: However, in this case, we only pursued the functionality of being hard to detach and being able to detach properly when we wanted to. Some may say that if the glasses are hard to detach, they should not be detachable from the beginning. In fact, there are glasses with front and temples that are attached to each other and cannot be removed. They are actually comfortable to wear, but they cannot be folded, and if there is a problem with any part of them, partial repairs are not possible. . Once upon a time, there was a TV and VCR combined in one unit, right?
Nakamuro: There it is! Tele-Video!
Nakagawa: Those things break, don't they? And when that happens, you have to repair the whole TV set. I didn't like that. The same is true of mini-components, but they are all in one piece.
Nakamuro: I haven't heard the word "compo" in a long time (laughs).
Nakagawa: That's where the time has stopped (laughs). (Laughs.) I want to think about what happens afterwards. In order to be able to repair only those parts that break, I need a mechanism that allows the parts that I want to be removed to be removed properly. . Since there is no such thing as a screw that will never loosen, I used a Phillips-head screw this time so that if it does loosen, it can be handled by any store to a certain extent.
. - In the case of the Torx screw, it's star-shaped, so it can't be repaired anywhere.
Nakagawa: Yes, you need a special star-shaped screwdriver . We do that because it is a beautiful tool, but in the case of the "E5 eyevan" there is a difference in thinking there.
It's a Phillips-head screw, but it doesn't loosen easily, does it?

Nakagawa: Yes . This one has no screws when you look at it from the top , and you can see the positive screw heads when you look at it from the back. The reason why the screws loosen is because vibration is transmitted to the screws when the temples move. The reason why the screws are loose is because the vibration is transmitted to the screws when the temples move. Also, the longer the jagged part of the screw is, the more adhesive surface it has and the less likely it is to loosen.

Nakamuro: Is that what this tubular structure is supposed to do?
Nakagawa: Yes . The tube goes through the top and the screws are inserted from the bottom. Because it is protected by the tube, even if the temples move, vibration is not transmitted to the screws. The pitch of the screw is twice as long as usual. This makes it difficult for the screws to loosen.
Nakamuro: This L-shaped design is also distinctive, isn't it?

Nakagawa: Yes . This is the part I was particularly particular about. . We applied for a patent and design rights for this L-shaped structure. By making this L-shaped, it is easy to adjust the width, narrowing, and height of the ears, etc. .
In addition to that, I think that some people with small faces will have extra space at the back of the temples, and this is cut off the excess so that it can be stuffed with a silicone cover. This cover also serves as an anti-slip device, doesn't it?

Also, since the parts of a pair of glasses are concentrated in the front, the front of the glasses tend to be heavier, and the glasses tend to be drooping forward. Therefore, a rare metal called tungsten, which means "heavy stone" in Swedish, is attached to the back of the temples. This metal is as heavy as pure gold.
Nakamuro: Tungsten. That's a cool name. I want to say it over and over again. Tungsten.
All: (Laughter).
Nakagawa: I looked up "heavy metal" and got a hit. . Actually, the name really caught me off guard, and I decided to go with it. It sounds kind of military, doesn't it?
Nakamuro: Tungsten. . it looks strong. But I really feel well-balanced wearing these glasses. They are crazy light and comfortable to wear , and I don't get tired at all. And there is zero pressure.
. Nowadays, people wear masks, so I think many people feel stress around their ears. It would be nice to be able to alleviate some of that stress.
Nakamuro: Indeed . . you get a headache, or your shoulders get stiff.
Nakagawa: We are used to it, but it must be hard otherwise....
Nakamuro: . In that sense, it is a tool that fits the times. You have created the ultimate pair of glasses.

The frames are available in two types: metal and acetate.
Nakagawa: Lens design is the final part that can be played with. Only there can we tweak it to the extent that it does not interfere with the function. This time, we have kept the shape basic, but I think it would be interesting to add design to it with a functional connotation in the future. So, I am planning to conduct a survey among opticians to get their opinions on what they want in a pair of glasses with this kind of functionality.
So you see the potential.
Nakagawa: It is very much so. I had never really thought about it that way. Until now, I had been designing glasses because I wanted to make cool glasses that I could wear myself.
