Where do you get inspiration for your art?
Jiro:I like to read newspapers, which contain not only news but also readers' advice on their problems. I like reading them. I like reading the voices of ordinary people. I often create stories derived from them.
I think you must be a great observer of human beings when you watch the contrasts.
Jiro:I do it naturally, rather than consciously. I like people, and there are many interesting people here.
You are a good actor, aren't you? Are these unique people possessed?
Jiro:I've been told that I'm a possession type, but I'm kind of becoming that type of person.
Do you have a story for people with unique problems, people with interesting words and actions, or even people whose fashion on the streets caught your attention?
Jiro:That may be so. I really like to look at fashionable women. I am interested in the reason why they chose the clothes they wore that day. When I imagine that, I think it's cute. Also, when I see a couple where the father wears a very tacky outfit, but only his hat is strangely fashionable, I wonder if the wife told him to do something about the hat (laughs). There is a lot of information in fashion, and I fantasize about the story behind it. I guess comedians have a tendency to be picky, so they like to find the weirdest things.
I think Sissonne's comedy is very surreal. Of course you are going for laughs, but do you think about what kind of laughs you want?
Jiro:We also like sticky things. For example, we like the "Drifters" kind of stuff. We sometimes perform such material at our solo shows, and we also do stuff that makes you say, "How am I supposed to laugh at this? I also do stuff that makes you say, "How am I supposed to laugh at this?
It's more experimental.
Jiro:That's right. There are times when I write something that I think is funny, but the audience doesn't like it at all, but the comedians around me and others in the industry like it very much. Well, you must be depressed when the audience doesn't like your material. I try to figure out how to improve the situation so that it will be more popular. Since we often do solo shows, we have many chances to experiment. So we use these opportunities to develop our material.
Do you still feel a sense of pleasure when you get a laugh?
Jiro:I was already addicted to it. I think all comedians are like that. There is no substitute for the thrill of a good laugh. That's why everyone writes material.

Lastly, what do you want to do in the future and what are your goals?
Jiro:I wanted to go around to elementary schools in different parts of the country and do live shows. But that's no longer possible because of Corona. In the old days, didn't we used to see plays that we didn't understand at community centers? I would like to do a live performance with a moral component in front of elementary school children. When the world settles down, I would like to make it happen.
Are you interested in such educational matters now?
Jiro:That's right. I think it is important for children to see and experience various things when they are children. I think it is important for children to see and experience a variety of things when they are children. It may be a good thing that they have more choices than we did when we were children, but I think it is also tasteless to look at screens all the time. So I would like them to see a variety of things in real life. I feel that "Sissonne" is finally gaining recognition among children, and I would like to give it a try.
