about ALLIED Feather + Down

ALLIED Feather + Down" is a down product brand launched in 2021 FW by the company, which has attracted attention as the world's top down supplier. The quality of the clothing is as described above, and the down used is also packed with attention to detail.
Allied's down is used by high-end brands and technical apparel companies in California, and its quality is so highly regarded in bedding and hotels around the world. Of course, the company's commitment to down is unrivaled. The down used is procured from contract farms that have a healthy breeding environment and thorough chemical substance management. The water used to process the down is also recycled, and the chemicals used in the processing process are bluesign certified. It is also worth mentioning that we use only reliable materials by introducing a traceability system that enables us to track the origin and quality of down.
Allied not only supplies only virgin down, which accounts for about 90-95% of the entire down industry, but also focuses on recycled down. This is because recycled down that is treated in an appropriate manner can be used semi-permanently for its original warmth and beauty. The down recycling program is also sustainable, designed by Allied, and is friendly not only to us but also to the earth.
It is in fact the company that developed an industry-leading, environmentally friendly down refining process that uses only environmentally hazardous fluorocarbon- and palm oil-free cleaning agents. The company's revival of down from clothing and bedding that would otherwise be discarded and its supply of high-quality down is a groundbreaking initiative.
Allied Feather & Down, Inc. was founded in 1987 and is currently based in Montebello, California. The reason why the down factory is located in warm California is because the dry climate is suitable for storing down. The main factory, stocked mainly with European down, is lined with machines that make full use of state-of-the-art technology. Thorough quality control is carried out at the factory, regardless of whether it is virgin or recycled down. The process of removing dust and impurities is carried out seven times during the entire process.

Not to forget the quality of the materials, Allied Feather & Down is certified by the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), an international standard that guarantees that no down harvesting or force-feeding is done. The amount of down washed at one time at the mill is 500 pounds (about 226 kg). The process begins with a temporary wash to remove dirt, followed by bedding after drying. After that, the down is puffed up in a stirrer and dried in small batches of 50 pounds (about 22 kg) each. Allied's commitment is to carefully dry the product without prioritizing efficiency. After hot-air drying at the company's factory, the recycled down regains its original heat-retaining power and is returned to the users as clothing and bedding.
