OAKLEY-NS performance demonstrated in the fashion scene.
Oakley NS, a lifestyle wear line launched last year by Oakley, known for sunglasses such as Frogskin, is an apparel line that is neither too sports-oriented nor simply relaxing, but has a perfect balance between the two. OAKLEY-NS is a line of apparel with an appealing balance. Stylist Masaaki Ida, who is active on the front lines of the fashion scene through magazines and catalogs, says that wearing this collection was "more fashionable than I had imagined. Why does he support this brand's items? Let's find out the reason through his own words.
Minimalist clothing that blends easily into everyday life.
What is your impression of the Oakley brand?
well rice fieldI think the image of sunglasses is still very strong. Frogskin. When I talked to senior stylists, they all had sunglasses of this brand. In that sense, it may be a sports brand that is closely connected to fashion.
What did you think when you heard that Oakley was launching a lifestyle wear line?
well rice fieldI had a surprise. I wondered what kind of clothes they would make. I wondered what kind of clothes they would make. Lifestyle wear made by sports brands is often decorative or too sporty to wear in everyday life.
However, when I saw Oakley NS items for the first time, I thought they were very minimalistic and urban clothing. I thought, "This is why I can easily blend in with my daily life. I felt that I could add them to my wardrobe without any sense of discomfort.
What are your impressions of the actual garments?
well rice fieldI was very happy with the fit. It was stretchy and stress-free. I knew that because it is made by a sports brand, there are no compromises in terms of functionality. It has excellent water absorption and quick-drying properties, and the pattern is drawn three-dimensionally, so it fits the body. I also thought the sewing was very good. I think it is a common way of making clothes that the seams are on the inside of the garment, but the garment I am wearing this time is designed so that the seams are on the front. The seam lines do not touch the body. The seams on the front side of the garment are seam-taped to make use of the design. I like that kind of reversed thinking.
Ribbed pants with a sharp silhouette are made of stretchable fabric. They are slim but comfortable to wear. They are also water-repellent and windproof, and perform well even in bad weather. The design without excessive decoration is also attractive, and this is one you will want to use as daily wear.RS SHELL WR PANTS-BD 2.2 ¥18,000+TAX
What do you think about the design?
well rice field: It is simple and easy to use. For example, let's say that on a certain day, you were wearing a shirt, tucked pants in the bottom, and leather shoes on your feet. If you changed the bottom to "Oakley NS" pants, I don't think the coordination would be any different. The silhouette is also moderately sharp, so they match with modern dressing. In fact, on days when I have to move around a lot at work, these pants are more comfortable and support active movement, so it makes sense.
As you mentioned earlier, it is about blending into everyday life.
well rice fieldI think that's right. Recently, I often feel that it is unfashionable to wear only fashion-brand items throughout the body. Rather, I feel that it is only when you combine sporting elements such as these that their appeal stands out and a more fashionable coordination can be created.

What do you keep in mind when coordinating sporty items?
well rice fieldI don't think I'll be conscious of anything. If you make rules like wearing sneakers on your feet because it is a sporty outfit, or wearing a digital watch on your wrist, you will end up with a one-size-fits-all look. The design of Oakley NS is really minimalistic and sophisticated, so I think it's good to wear it casually without thinking about it. The logo is not too strong, so the coordination does not lean too much toward sports or outdoor activities.
You have shown us two coordinated styles. Let's start with the parka style.
well rice fieldI usually wear basic colors such as white and navy. This is because I think that if I wear colorful fashion items, I become too fashion conscious and it becomes unrealistic. However, with lifestyle wear like this, it is a different story, and I think it is possible to incorporate colors in a well-balanced way.
This parka features a solid design. The areas that come in contact with the skin are made of a high-performance material with an uneven texture, which quickly absorbs perspiration and keeps you dry to the touch. The front zip, sleeve ribs, and other subtle color schemes accentuate the design. The double-zip closure is also a plus.RS SHELL QD HOODY JACKET-FT 1.6 ¥15,000+TAX
I see.
well rice fieldThe green color of this parka is beautiful, and if you want to wear such an item fashionably and well, I think it would be good to change the silhouette by matching it with wide pants.
It is true that simply wearing denim would be an ordinary outfit, wouldn't it?
well rice fieldYes: they are. However, wide pants are a difficult item to coordinate with, so I tucked in my innerwear to give the coordination a tighter look. Another key point is that leather shoes are worn on the feet for a classy look.
How about a coordinated look using the bottom?
well rice fieldI naturally matched this with my everyday style. I think it is very realistic to build a traditional style by combining these easy to wear bottoms with a shirt and leather shoes. I am thinking about meeting people while taking ease of movement into consideration. That's why I dared to wear leather-belted watches and silver bracelets on my arms as accessories, making them more urban. I think this accentuates the appeal of the pants and gives the impression of being fashionable.
