I sympathize with Forty Seven's community-based approach.

NakamuroHow often do you go to the U.S.?
Japanese pampas grassI try to go four times a year, basically.
rough woodDo you see many people wearing caps in the U.S. as well?
Japanese pampas grassFor example, even on Wall Street or in other cities with a stiff image, people wearing a suit and tie usually wear a cap. It may be that they wear caps as a kind of gear to protect their heads from cold and dust, in the same way as in the old days when people wore hats. In my case, I look at people who wear such styles. I often see people wearing "forty-seven" caps around the stadium. They are rooted in the community as fan caps. It is interesting to see so many different people wearing them. I feel sympathy for them.
NakamuroI don't see any Japanese guys in suits wearing baseball caps.
DKJ: Have you ever been to see MLB?
Japanese pampas grassI'm sorry, but I really don't know anything about baseball, so I've never been to a game (laughs). I do like baseball caps, though. I wear the Philadelphia Phillies cap I mentioned earlier, the classic N.Y. Yankees cap, and if it's not MLB, I like the NFL's N.Y. Jets team colors, which is an American sport.
Nakamuro: Speaking of which, why did you choose the N.Y. Yankees as the motif for the first collaboration?

Japanese pampas grassI think the only reason is that we are doing our collection in New York. I have no strong feelings for the team or its players, so I was able to use the N.Y. Yankees from a flat perspective.
rough woodI think it's hard to do something drastic when you have strange feelings about it.
Japanese pampas grassI can't mess with old clothes or cars, because I have a lot of feelings for them. It is especially difficult with products that have been around for a long time. I knew that "forty-seven" was a brand with a long history, but since I was not familiar with baseball, I was able to think visually, so I may have been able to move with an idea. If I had known more about baseball or had been more involved, I might have said, "DKJ, I'm sorry....
-Are there any particular models or designs of "forty-seven" caps that you are particularly interested in?
Japanese pampas grassAs I mentioned earlier, I have short hair now, so I am interested in the "CLEAN UP" model, which is a non-snapback model with a curved brim. Are there any inline models that do not have the team logo, but only the "forty-seven" logo?
DKJWe have it as a product in the U.S., but it hasn't made its way to Japan.
Japanese pampas grassI see. I'm curious about that.
NakamuroWhat kind of styling would you wear a plain cap with?
Japanese pampas grassI'd like to wear it when I go shopping on an off day, with a sweatshirt top and bottom or something like that. I usually wear a watch cap, so I think this baseball cap would be better for the coming season.
NakamuroThe third collaboration from "N. Hollywood" is "CLEAN UP," which is as plain and simple as possible!
