We have heard that one of the new initiatives that will be undertaken because of the relationship between the two of you is the second "Bay Cruise Store" that opened recently in Nagoya PARCO. Could you tell us again about the "Bay Cruise Store"?
Abe:BAYCREW'S has a select store "JOURNAL STANDARD" and brands such as "EDIFICE" and "SPIC&SPAN". We opened our first store in Sendai and our second store in Nagoya in November 2021.
Abe-san directed the 3rd floor of the Bay Cruise Store.
Abe:It is a select space called "BAYCREW'S DEPO" that offers more than 15 domestic and international brands.
Q. How did you decide to feature "Dairiku" so prominently amongst all the other prominent brands?
Abe:For the opening, Nagoya PARCO asked us to do something interesting and different from the usual stores. So, we were asked to come up with something different and interesting than the usual.
The sales floor is the largest on the 3rd floor, and in addition to a full lineup of inline items, we have prepared limited items that can only be purchased there. The lineup is completely different from what you normally see in Tokyo, so I think it is worth coming all the way to Nagoya to see it.
Okamoto:Also, since I myself am a vintage clothing lover, for the first two weeks I will be displaying vintage clothing selected by "FALMAN," a store owned by a friend of mine who has been a good friend of mine since high school. In the future, I am thinking of putting my favorite movies and figurines in the shop to change the way it looks.
A: I think the special-order apparel items are particularly noteworthy.
Abe:At the 417 EDIFICE Shibuya store, we have many customers in their 30s and 40s who buy "Dairiku" clothes. Therefore, we were conscious of making the coloring monotone, so that even adults can easily wear the clothes. As long as we are doing special orders, we would be happy if our customers wear the clothes they bought next year and the year after and come back to the store to shop again.
"BMG" Nylon Coat ¥79,200 This is an oversized nylon coat that designer Dairiku Okamoto himself often wears. This is a special order for a monotone coloring based on black, which was not included in the in-line line. This item is easy to wear for all generations.
JAPANESE SOUVENIR JACKET ¥64,900 This fatigued jacket is inspired by embroidered military jackets and souvenir items. The silhouette has been updated with a modern look while the vintage feel has been processed by hand. This one is also arranged in black, which was not available in the in-line version.
Abe:Dailik's three classic polyester jackets, pants, and vests are also a highlight of the collection. These items sold out immediately last season, and I know many people were unable to purchase them, so I wanted to release them again. As for the colors, I threw out a few ideas, and Continental himself responded with, "I think this color would be good. I threw out a few suggestions for colors, and Tairiku himself responded with a resounding, "I think this color is good," so it was an instant decision. This tone may look flashy at first glance, but I think it can be easily adopted by anyone.

While new colors and model changes are made, this is a standard item for "Dairiku" that inevitably sells out each time it is released.
It's a rare opportunity in today's online age to see these special orders only in stores.
Abe:In this day and age, it is difficult to get people to come to a store unless there is something of real value, so this is an area we were very conscious of. For fans of the brand, I think they will enjoy Baycrew's Depot as a place where they can encounter clothes from Dairiku that they cannot find anywhere else.
Okamoto:We have a full lineup of inline items, but the product mix is more like a showcase of custom-made items that we have worked on together.
