Tatras bag and artist Ryosuke Kataoka's inspirational trip.

Photographers Izaki-san and Kataoka-san seem to make short trips like this on a regular basis.

I always decide on one destination with Izaki-kun and take a walk on the way there, taking pictures with my phone and looking for things I can input for my creative work. This time, we picked a place called Symbol Promenade Park, which we had never been to before. When I was researching this park, I noticed that there is an objet d'art with the Chinese character for "flower" that looks like the word "LOVE" in New York (laugh). I wanted to see it with my own eyes.

In front of a huge "flower" sculpture, Kataoka-san takes a series of pictures with his smartphone. He says that a day bag is the best way to carry his back.

. "On a trip like this, I take a lot of pictures with my iPhone, so having both hands open is a prerequisite. . In that sense, a backpack is very useful. . I like the casual yet elegant look of this nylon bag. The hook at the end of the cord that runs around the perimeter of the bag also looks convenient.

The Symbol Promenade Park stretches from Tokyo Teleport Station to the International Exhibition Hall. As you walk through the park, you will see the Tokyo Big Sight on your right, and a large "flower" sculpture.

Oh, it is simple but strong! The Chinese character for "flower" is "kusa kanmuri", "yi" and "hi". It looks like a symbol. ...... Also, the size is exquisite. I realized that just by enlarging the kanji character for "flower," which everyone is familiar with, in a cityscape, it becomes a work of art and something out of the ordinary. It works as a work of art, and I would like to create such a work of art myself. I learned a lot from ......, where I can discover new things when such works of art exist in everyday life.

. Kataoka's creative spirit was stirred. Walking between the trees, he once again began to improvise his work.

I thought it would be interesting to visualize the path I took. There are often photos taken at night in front of a camera with a slow shutter speed, in which the path you move becomes a "line". I visualized my actions in a more primitive way than that.

A mere red yarn entwined with wood gives birth to a dramatic work of art. Bags that develop a deeper flavor as they are used may also represent the passage of time, just like the works of art he has expressed.
