How Stylists Use Danner x Briefing Items Vol. 2 Shinya Endo

Danner" and "BRIEFING" have always valued their identities and have continued to create robust products, no matter what the times have been like. The two companies have come together to launch a new line of bags and shoes. How superior are these masterpieces created under the keyword of "toughness"? How do the two stylists, who wander the streets daily in search of inspiration, shoot in a variety of environments, and are particular about bags and shoes, use the items? The second is Shinya Endo, an interior stylist who struggles with huge luggage such as sofas and tables on a daily basis.

It adapts to active lifestyles.

Endo-san, I know you like camping as well.

Endo:Every time I have been interviewed, I have said that my hobby is camping, but for the past year or so, I have not been able to go camping in private. But for the past year or so, I have not been able to go camping in my private time.

What kind of clothes do you choose for these outdoor shoots?

Endo:Whether outdoors or in the city, for me it doesn't matter where I am, I always wear clothes that are easy to move in. When I work, I tend to wear thick pants because I move around all the time, and I often kneel in many situations, so I don't mind if they get dirty.

You said this is also true for shoes and bags.

Endo:That's exactly what it is. I am really covered in mud and dust every day (laughs). That's why this collaboration between "Briefing" and "Danner" is perfect.

What kind of bags do you usually use?

Endo:A backpack is the only choice. If your hands are full, you will not be able to carry in your luggage.

What is in the backpack?

Endo:Work documents and my laptop. I also always carry a measuring tape. There are size restrictions on luggage depending on the shooting location, and I always carry a tape measure so that I can always take measurements. I also always have scissors and cutters, and many other small items like that.

This bag has a lot of compartments and a lot of storage space for small items. Of course, there is also a PC sleeve.

Endo:It is really convenient. There are many small pockets inside the bag. Also, the ballistic nylon material is resistant to tearing and abrasion. As a person who carries sharp objects, I am very happy about this. Another important point in choosing a bag is that the bag itself can stand on its own. When I go to the field, I often leave my bag on the ground, so I pay attention to that.

This bag can stand on its own and the bottom is reinforced with leather from "Danner".

Endo:I like the look of the fabric and the leather. I usually prefer khaki and brown, and I like them because they blend in well both outdoors and in town. Also, when I used it, I thought the front opening was quite large. It seems to be convenient for taking luggage in and out.

On the other hand, what is your impression of the shoes?

Endo:I don't have many opportunities to wear boots. I often find myself in a bent-over position, and when I do, the instep of my foot feels stiff in boots. When I first saw these boots, I thought they might be the same type, but when I tried them on, they were surprisingly soft. Moreover, they are not entirely made of leather, but rather fabric derived from "Briefing," so I feel that moisture is also drained out of them. They feel pretty good.

Also, I usually carry heavy things. So, there is a chance that I might drop a package on my foot. This is a bit unusual, but the upper of these shoes is firm, so I feel secure in that respect.
