Keen and Ultra Heavy, a four-way story centered on their first collaboration.

Stylist Akira Ishikawa has worked with Palm Graphics' Koji Toyoda for many years on Keen's popular "Yogi Artsful" collaboration model. This season, Ultra Heavy is working on it. Mr. Toyoda changed the model to "Shanti Arts" and joined the collaboration project. How did this happen? We visited Mr. Ishikawa in Fukuoka, where he is preparing for a pop-up, to talk to him about the various plans he has every time.

Various "firsts" coincided with the timing.

Keen's collaboration project has been joined this season by "Ultra Heavy," hasn't it?

Ishikawa:Keane has been wanting to work with Ultra Heavy for some time, and we are finally getting around to it. We wanted to continue the collaboration with Mr. Toyoda, but we also wanted to do "Ultra Heavy," and we wanted to find the perfect timing for that.

Until now, "Yogi Artsful" has been handled by Mr. Toyoda and Mr. Ishikawa's company, "PG&A. . It is now under the name "Ultra Heavy" by Mr. Ishikawa, Jerry Ukai, and Ryuji Kamiyama. Furthermore, the base graphics for both models are by Mr. Kamiyama. Isn't "Shanti Arts" under the name "Ultra Heavy?

Ishikawa:PG&A" is "Palm Graphics & Akira. Kamiyama joined the group, and the brand name was changed to "PG&AK. The design is still by Kimiaki Eto of "PAPIER LABO.

I see , so that's how it is.

Ishikawa:Yogi Artsful" is completely under the name of "Ultra Heavy," since it is Ukai, Kamiyama, and myself. Kamiyama-kun and Mr. Toyoda have been getting along well lately. I am fine with any combination. Even if it's Ukai-kun and Eto-kun, we can shuffle any of them around.

Is the pop-up at the "Journal Standard Yahtzee Store" and the collaboration with "Keen" different?

Ishikawa:Yes, it was a coincidence. The collaboration between "Keane" and "Ultra Heavy" was a first, so we wanted to make a splash. Then, the timing of our pop-up for this store (Journal Standard Yahtzee Store) and the launch of Keen coincided, so we said, "Well, we'd like to make Keen an event, too. Both Ukai and I are indebted to the Journal. Kamiyama's exhibition and "Ultra Heavy" have both been very successful recently.

I covered the event at "Journal Standard" in a previous issue of Huynem Unplugged.

Ishikawa:Oh, right, the Omotesando one. So we have a great relationship, but it's really just a coincidence. But the timing is perfect. It's very difficult to get Ukai-kun and Kamiyama-kun to work together now. It's been a long time since the three of us have worked together on an event, hasn't it?

Cormorant:Yes, that's right. There are some events in which Ken-san and I, or Kamiyama-kun and I, participate together.

Ishikawa:There's me and Kamiyama, but that's not "ultra heavy" anymore. It's not really possible. Or rather, I can't do it.

Because you two are busy?

Ishikawa:I'm busy. . that's a very good thing. It's good for them that they don't have to deal with me. But I think they are too busy for me.
