First meeting on a street corner in the late afternoon.
I've always been interested in BMW's EVs, haven't you?"
A surprising response from Mr. Kakubari to this offer. The music label Kakubarizm, of which Mr. Kakubari is the president, must bring to mind keywords such as vinyl records, independent, and DIY, which are rather reminiscent of the analog worldview of many people. I don't really have an image of Mr. Kakubari checking out the latest cars, and this is a start to my wish to cover the chemical reaction between the analog worldview and the latest EV cars.
I like cars very much (laughs). (Laughs) "I like cars from the outside (laughs). (laughs). My brother likes cars, and I was also influenced by a comic book I read in the 1990s. I've never owned a BMW, but my brother used to drive one, and I've always wanted to have an early model X3. I love the look of old cars, but I'm also interested in the latest ones, so I watch YouTube to check them out.

In the early afternoon of the day of the photo shoot, the "BMW i4" to be test-driven arrived in front of the Kakubarizm office. While the SUV-type BMW iX3 was on the list, Mr. Kakubari chose the coupe-type BMW i4. The quietness typical of a fully electric model and the elegance of a "BMW" car raised his expectations.
. Oh, it looks even cooler in person (than it does in the pictures on the website). . The body has a matte look and feel, and the front grille is distinctive. The coupe is nice, it looks like "the car" (laughs). Even though it is a coupe, the trunk is wider than it looks.
After graduating from high school, Mr. Kakubari moved from Sendai to Kokubunji, Tokyo, to go to college. Of course, he could not afford to own a car when he moved to Tokyo, but in 2002, he started his own label, and out of necessity, he decided to own a car. However, since the main purpose of his car is to carry equipment and luggage, he has only driven wagons and SUVs that can carry a lot of cargo. Coupes seem to have been close but far away.
